Hi, I just got my new equipment installed. My old equipment came with a router and my personal modem and only 2 Broadband plug ins. My new equipment comes with a Router that has the Modem included. I was informed that when I get my new Router that I will be able to disable the Wifi and only use Broadband. Now I am being told that I can not do that. So there are 2 problems here. I cant use any other equipment with this setup which is a huge problem and Nr2 Viaset does not offer different router options for certain packages. And there is another problem Viaset is the only Internet provider in my area so I can not switch companies for my Internet. It is super important that you will offer other options as I want to convert my home into and WIFI free zone and only use broadband. It must be provided by your company. Wifi is a huge problem for humans health. We get constantly bombarded with frequency that are very unhealthy for us. There are several studies out there showing that not using Wifi can heal certain people that are very sick. Please consider including a router with several broadband outlets and a modem that can be added or not. Thanks !

You can turn off the wifi on the new equipment.  This thread shows you how to turn off the wifi on your Exede (ViaSat) modem: https://community.viasat.com/viasat/topics/how-do-i-turn-off-the-wifi-modem  Look for the post by Alex near the bottom of the thread.

I put tin foil on my head sometimes to both block radiation and increase my tv signal. Win/win

I was just on the chat with customer care and they told me its not possible ! jeeze
Marlen: customer care is a 3rd party company separate from ViaSat and that ViaSat contracts with to provide 24/7/365 customer service, since the costs to do so in house would be horrendous due to endless government fees, taxes and regulations.  The people in that customer care center do not work for ViaSat and they are often wrong.

However, the moderators on this forum DO work for ViaSat.  Any response from a moderator on this forum is therefore going to more accurate and is what you want to go with.

I have my wifi turned off.  I don't want it on right next to me either.   I would put the router in an rf enclosure such as a metal box or even an old microwave oven.  Check for rf leakage on the cables and add ferrites  as necessary.  It will reduce your exposure to virtually nothing.
