I have a question There are a lot of tech savy people on this forum.  I have a HP Desktop Envoy with Windows 7. Less than a year old. Question why would they put a router on motherboard.? I had sent email to Exede and they helped me with one thing and told me should unplug router. Wrote back said didn't have router. They wrote back telling me name of router company. When googled it found out they make HP motherboards and apparently put routers on the motherboard. Does anyone have idea why.

That was answer got from Exede listens. There is a router identified on your account as “PEGATRON CORPORATION
Host Name:Helen-HP”. If you believe it’s not your router (possibly built into the pc), and because there are no issues displaying a direct problem

Looked up PEGATRON CORPORATION they make motherboards for HP computers.

PC's do not have routers built into them.  That is a function of a wireless router that is an external device.  Even if your PC has wireless, it is not a router, just the ability to connect wirelessly to the router.

Now, what is the real problem that you are having that you need help with that caused you to contact them to start with.  Let me see if I can halp you.  I am an Elite Dealer for Exede and a member of the Dealer Advisory Council to ViaSat.  I am here to help all of our Exede Customers who are having issues.  If you send me your modems mac address found on the bottom of your modem 00:A0:BC:__:__:__, I can run a remote diagnostics and see what is going on and make my recommendations.  Send privately to my email david@lakecountrysat.com and I will be more that glad to help.

Hi HMC1940,  Our tools show us the name of your router or devices connected behind the modem.  I am not aware of any computers at this time that have the router built in.  I'm sorry if we confused you.:o(

this is reply from your Exede listens. To me the possibily built into pc is very confusing.) to heck with the whole problem. As long as I'm not running out of data fast. but I have NO router never have and probably never will.

Computers can be routers but that requires programing changing to windows and then still you have to have it connected to a switch. From what they said looks like they don't know what they are talking about...if it says helen-pc then they are just seeing the network card from your comouter. No offence to the phone support but they aren't the most tech savy people based on everything I read here about them.

That wasn't phone that was Exede listens email. I used that because from comment phone didn't sound like they got good service from calling in and always saying Exede listens is so much better. Now  I'm wondering about that.

Well like Diana said it just shows what's connected directly to the modem but if they said the name is helen-hp then that is the name of your computer that other devices would search for if you have more then one networked and were trying to share files between them.

What was the initial problem that you emailed Diana?

Don't have another network. Don't have a router.  Got in touch because have high loss of sync count--474. Lower now was 513. But some of pages seem to have trouble loading. I get little reload page thing going around and around and around. That was with my local newspaper and few other sites I use. Now part of time getting dns thing where no data is being loaded. So just going to sites I can get .
