I don't understand for sure but, I think this is about returning a modem. Barry, email viasatlistens@viasat.com or call 855-463-9333. I'm sure they will be able to assist you.

This has to be one of most legitimate complaints I hear about Viasat. People return the modem, have proof it was returned, yet Viasat doesn't acknowledge it was returned!

I returned one for a second account the first week of March. Since two billing cycles have passed since then, I assume it reached them OK.

Modems will typically get scanned upon arrival and a refund (if charged) is applied to the payment method on file. If the payment method on file has expired or has been removed that could be holding up a refund. I think calling the number in Bev's reply will see a faster turn around. Usually sending through a different carrier or without the boxes we provide has caused a few snags as well.

I'd like to interject something I've learned to ALWAYS do when you ship something using an AR label. Take a picture of the shipping label with your phone!! There are 2 very good reasons to do this:
1) if you just write it down you might misplace what you wrote it on.....you most likely won't misplace your phone.
2) it makes it very easy to email the tracking number to the company in question.

Through the years I've had several customers ship something back to Dish and end up getting charged for unreturned equipment.

There's also the possiblity of sending the wrong thing back. Sometimes like a router will be sent instead of the modem, someone once sent their laptop.

Very true.

There is one VERY important thing I forgot to mention.

3) Take a picture of the box while it is STILL OPEN so you can clearly see what the contents of the box are, Then another one after you tape it up, the meta data on the image will show the date and time of each pic. Doing this saved me a LOT of money with Dish Network one time.

Oh yeah, 4) Don't leave your phone on a bench

100% agreed this is VERY helpful with equipment return disputes. Should people HAVE to do that? Absolutely not! I do agree it's a safe step to take. At the very least the tracking number helps a lot as well.

Hey, it isn't just Viasat's return processing, I just had an Amazon return get billed to be, a month after I returned it. Tracking said they had the item and, had received it 4 days after I requested the refund. I gave them the tracking number which they verified based on the return label I had printed form my account page, refund issued AGAIN because there was all the proof the rep needed to see they had my returned item.

The rep apologized for the item not being scanned in properly at the return facility. Viasat isn't the only one that gets caught by a lazy warehouse worker at the return center.

That's not exactly a fair comparison. Amazon likely has more returns in one day than Viasat has had since it required modems to he returned.
