Resolving host and Establishing secure connection messages

Just about every time I try to go to a web page I get the message, "resolving host" at the bottom left corner and it always takes about 20 seconds to start loading the page.
I never had that before with At&T or cable internet, only with Exede.
Another problem I always get is "Establishing secure connection" and that is also with most pages, even the Google search page or Walmart page and not logging in.
It makes my internet so slow.

What internet browser are you using? Try a different one and see if it makes a difference.

Are you running an Internet Security program or add-on in the background?

How are your upload and download speeds. Do you still have Gig's left on your account?

Hope it helps,
Everett

I use Chrome as my browser, it seems to be the fastest loading, Firefox is very slow at loading.
I use Kingsoft antivirus.
Just did Speakeasy speed test and it shows, 13.11 dl/ 3.28 UL speed.

I use Chrome Browser too. I also get the secure connection at bottom of page but never takes very long to get connection. Have you cleaned your Chrome history. I do that every time I shut down and if been on a lot of sites or doing graphics then I clean it.--My internet securiy program that I run is Kaspersky internet security but I still get good speeds.

I have read where others (non-Exede) are having the same issues. The suggestion range from "Are your Windows Update's current" What firewall program settings are you using".

You might check your firewall program to see if there is an HTTPS filter or blocker taking effect.

In Chrome, your could go to settings / click "Show advanced settings..." at the bottom of the page / then click "Reset Settings" at the bottom of that page.

I have not heard of "Kingsoft antivirus" before. You might add one of the websites you are having trouble with to it's "allow" file. Then test to see if it made a difference?

Your speeds are good. What OS are you using? If it's Windows, then the updates seem to be the best fix from what I have read online.

Hope it helps,
Everett

That secure connection doesn't slow me down at all. I would prefer having secure connection so many hackers, scammers, etc out there.

My appreciation for Windows 8.1 is actually growing as I take it for a test drive. The new user interface was perplexing at first and stubbed a few toes on furniture that has been rearranged (and of course you have to go out of your way on satellite internet to tame its data appetite). It sort of grows on you and the wife is happy with the Surface so that's all that really matters.

Was there ever a fix to the "resolving host" connection issue?  I'm having the same issue this morning and can't seem to figure it out.  Nathan K Smith 512-694-7803 Austin Tenant Advisors  http://www.austintenantadvisors.com/
