Receiving Numerous SPAM emails

In the last two months, I have started receiving so many SPAM emails and some have very offensive subject titles. On a daily basis, I am getting about 30 of these types of emails. I am sending them to SPAM box and have my preferences set "High" for SPAM, but they are still getting through. Is there anything Wildblue can do to help with the firewall on these SPAM emails? Or what else can I do so that these types of emails don't come through my inbox?

Hello Janice,
Some helpful steps to follow for an alternativemethod for blocking spam from coming into your email would be:

Click on thePreferences tab.

Click on Mail on the left side.

Scroll all the way down to Spam Mail Options.

You now have the option to Block Messages From orAllow messages from

Click Save and Refresh your screen

Here is a link to the Zimbra website supporttutorial page to assist with targeting these types of emails so they don’tre-appear again and get recognized as spam. We are working with our engineersto find out better resolutions to configure these email blocks.

You may want to try another email account such asgoogle or yahoo which actually may have a better spam block then Zimbra mayhave concerning your emails. If you have any further questions or concernsplease give us a call at 866.945.3258

Has Exede upper management made any contractual progress with Zimbra to provide better methods for us to block spam?

Excellent Exede/Alex! We are receiving over 100 per day! We are long-time Wildblue, pre-Zimbra subscribers and it was never this bad. It's getting worse. We are "computer savvy" and know how to protect ourselves but this has become quite frustrating.

That would be great Exede/Alex!  I have figured out how to filter these too numerous and very offensive and aggravating SPAM emails but like others have said it's very tedious and time-consuming and we shouldn't have to be doing this much filtering of SPAM.  Also, the filters limit you to 100, so that's filling up quickly with all the ridiculous SPAM we are getting.  Yes, I could switch and use my gmail account; however, I have already set up my contacts with wildblue email account and then that would be time-consuming to notify all my contacts.  I just don't think that should be the answer when  it seems like Exede could make an effort on their end as a provider to have a more secure email platform with Zimbra or whoever for SPAM filtering.  I too have been a long-time customer with Wildblue/Exede but I do have other reliable internet options now in my rural area and really considering switching just because of the lack of effort and customer service from Exede regarding this email issue.  And you know many of your customers are dealing with this issue.  Keep hoping for some help from Exede!

Suggestion from exede employee Lindsay is worthless.  Thank you so much wm4bama for posting, many of us could not have said it any better!

Some problem here and it all started when they changed formats. I've tried their scripted solution and of course it doesn't work!

We would have loved to stay with Google's Gmail client but unfortunately last summer Google ended ALL partnerships with Internet Service Providers (ISP's) and Zimbra was chosen as a successor. Fortunately everything that was good with the old format is 100% free via Gmail and it won't be tied to your Exede account.

So, are you saying that Wildblue/Exede should be replaced with a Gmail account? Sounds good to me since the Google system worked well for me and now w/Wildblue  I receive 50+ SPAM emails per day and the "Filters" don't work!

I'm not necessarily saying that, I'm just saying that a standalone email service may be a far less frustrating experience as far as spam control goes. Like I said our exede/wildblue email is just a optional add-on because some people want a email address with their provider so we offer one but it's not required.

While I absolutely prefer Gmail personally,  I'm not telling you what to choose or to even do it, I suggested Gmail as that's who we used (it was Gmail running as a client for us until late last summer) and many customers that are upset about the spam are likely people who were customers last year when we were using them so that's why I suggested them over something like Yahoo or whatever.

Many web sites are seemingly selling email addresses...Don't know if Zimbra does this but sites like Facebook were caught doing this, so no email address is completely safe without a very reliable spam filter provided that runs on their email server and allows each user to configure it to suit their preferences..

I have been having the same problems with spam for over a month now. When I contacted Excede, they said they had a new spam server and the way it worked was until a lot of people tag something as spam, the server would not act on it. I think this is ridiculous. I have been with them for several years now, and have never had this problem. I think they should do something to stop all of this spam.

I received the same response.  Totally unacceptable and as usual the lack of customer service.  As a very long time user changing email accounts is really not an option.  Please all continue to post your complaints.  Cannot tell me that wildblue / exede isn't a big enough customer of Zimbra to get them to do SOMETHING.

I've gotten a lot of suggestions on getting a different email. That is just ridiculous! I use my email for business. Do they have any idea how long it would take me to send out notifications to all my email contacts? Here's an idea, they caused the problem so they should fix it!

Nikki, Exede did not cause the problem, Google did when they forced all ISPs to find another email service.

Exede / Wildblue picked a cheap, substandard, low grade email client.  They should either find another or force Zimbra to create a better system.
