I don't expect 9 all the time. I don't even complain about 500kbps. But when it gets around 200kbps or lower the internet is basically unusable.

At least you are further away from Nelsonville.
So it was my understanding too a high density spot beam would cover this area. The Viasat-2 antenna issues though impacted the coverage areas. Just our luck.

In your case GabeU, your zip is in one of those odd Small Beams...you get the "modified" better plans but not the full 100mbps.

I have some flyers hitting sw GA in a couple days....made sure all the addys were 100meg small beam. Even with THAT however we are going to have to run the address through FIRST just to verify.

Makes me real leary of the performance I would get. I have been on the edge of a Viasat-1 spot beam with a low SNR. It is no fun!

Your zip produces a result I have not seen recently. It says Viasat is available only from a local retailer and you must contact them for availbility. Wild!
Anyhow, you are in the crap plan area. That means for $200 you could get 65GB of priority data at up to 12Mbps. For that amount, both the speed and priority data allotment is pathetic. Your Freedom plan gives you more at a lower cost.
So it looks like Viasat-2 has nothing to offer you.

$200 is a lot of cash. I could live with 65GB it if stayed above 6MBps although I don't love the latency. But there is no guarantees for now or the future. Based on being burnt once with Excede, it would be stupid for me to count on an improvement in speed with V2. And with V2 plans being crap, V1 will probably not get less congested. I have to find another source of internet. I don't trust Hughesnet ether although there are a lot of neighbors with it so it may perform better here. Or a tower and cell booster for Verizon. LIke most people with Viasat, I don't have other good options.
Thanks again.

If they do file an insurance claim, good luck keeping the original plans and how things ended up quiet.
