Wireless drops speeds by 10 fold! tried all the suggestions here. The only answer left is the "new" combo modem/router that they sent me. It worked fine for the first 2 weeks.
I did all the tests. hardwired and wireless. moved my device to various close proximities to the modem on wireless. no matter where in the room it resulted on the same 1.4 download. :(
On hardwired it went up to 10. So there is always a stronger signal on wired, i get that, but this difference does not make sense, UNLESS there is something wrong with the wireless device within the modem. right? wrong? I am about ready to throw exede out the window.

I agree... their combo device SUCKS.  Performance is horrible, you can't bridge the WAN IP to another router for better wireless coverage and you can't run 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz SSID at the same time (which everyone else has been doing for the past 4 years???)  I'm using the new plan for the increased bandwidth and lower price.

Not getting anything else out of it.

Please let us know what they say. I posted the same questions to them and basically got a "shrug" of the shoulders. From their perspective the speed tests were fine so it's your problem.
