5 days into billing cycle and the claim by excede is that 82% of data is gone. The claimant "excede " must need explain where or by what means this data has been "used". Failure by excede to detail in some meaningful way the data disappearance will constitute grounds for termination of contract and opening of investigation due to, at minimum, concealment on part of excede. The complexity and basic impediments thrown in ones way when merely attempting to ask/post a question to "excede" is indicative the pattern of obfuscation practiced by this company. The first attempt at posting has disappeared whilst attempting to negotiate the sign in hurdles.
We remain asking the simple question: where did the 82% of data go in 5 days? A straight answer from "excede" will offset the mounting evidence that "excede" operates by concealment.

A good starting place would be description of your network.

Connected directly to the modem or through a router?

If thorough a router, how many devices?

Wired?

Wireless?

Is router GUI username/password changed from default?

for wireless channels, what encryption level have you enabled if any?

What operating systems are involved?

Do you have a wireless network printer connected?

not true on some, windows updates on a large scale do not happen every day of every month, most have the common sense to do them duering the Free zone. this has been an ongoing since before windows 10 even was released.i have seen ALOT of complaints of data being used with everything powered off and people not even home for days and months at a time.

Have zero "Windows" . When the wire/usb cord is hooked up to Mac, it is through a "Almond" Router. The Mac is kept in a disconnected status unless in certain specific use. Foreign or alien programs are not allowed to sap data. The Mac WiFi is kept off.
The Almond Router does serve two to three other cell phone devices when such devices have WiFi on and are in area. The cellphones are used for email and one plays words with friends. Historically there has not been the issue at all like this recent voluminous data drain.
That the data consumption rate changed is a simple true fact, what else has changed to where a cause for data drain be determined, remains a mystery.
The type an destination of mystery data consumed, remains a mystery and so far no answers are forthcoming from the outfit that is consuming credit from the account.
FWIW: Have no idea what  Exede Lindsey, Employee,  is refering to when states:

" I’m certainly sorry your feel this way. " (see above)  Where was a "feeling" expressed?
Though feelings may be facts, are not facts established by more than a feel or feeling...?

Sorry Bruce, but Exede does not hide where your data is going, or used. You have the choices of calling customer service, emailing exedelistens@viasat.com or by visiting the eSVT tool website.

If you choose to email, be sure to include your account number and a phone number, with your request for were you data is being used.

You can log into the eSVT tool if you are a direct subscriber of Exede. This tool is not available to subscribers of third party resellers. The tool can be found at https://myesvt.exede.net Log in using the same credentials you use for the Exede Dashboard. Once logged in, at the bottom of the page you will see icons for various items, the third one from the left will get you to the data usage page.

The eSVT tool further states that data was used on a date .  But where is not clear there to me.  Please show us non puter individuals how you are exactly able to discern from "data usage page",  the :"where your data is going"..  ?

My data was reset 2 nights ago. Today I wake up and my computer is really really slow, not even the "busy" time they told me to expect it.  I get 12 gigs and on Liberty Pass.  Exede just took payment of $91.69.  Tell me  when I look at my data usage it say all 12 have been used ?  I'm a senior and disabled and guess what, we get no breaks.  Can't even use the system.   Yes, password was changed, direct connect to desktop, only one wireless printer connected.  
Exede doesn't get it, I'M NOT HAPPY. I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING RIPPED OFF.  Spending the precious little money I get for internet to be able to skype my grandkids and poof, the data is gone.

Darlene, have you checked the Exede meter to see how much of your 12 GB has been used? If you have not yet used all your data and your connection is running slow, you may need to power cycle your modem and your router.

it's all gone, less then 2 days, got email last night at midnight saying I was on Liberty Pass now.   yes there is router connected.... what part of direct to desktop via router and one wireless printer was confusing.  how many times do I use my printer, maybe 3 or 4 pages a day.

To me a direct connect means a single computer connected to the modem. In that scenario only a single conception path exists. It is a straightforward thing to install monitoring software such as Glasswire to monitor and report all the data along that single path.

Having a router in the mix greatly complicates matters as the router multiplies the number of connection paths.
That starts with the router itself in respect to the router getting auto firmware updates and other "services".
I enabled two of them in my router and it used 500 MB in just four days.
Having a router also allows the connection of up to four wired devices.

Routers also have other settings in its GUI such as open guest accounts, WPA vulnerabilities and selection of wireless encryption settings.
Having a wireless printer can allow it to be used as a wireless access point under some circumstances

you know, if you guys could connect it any better than me using ethernet to the DEVICE THAT YOU SENT ME TO USE FOR THE LIBERTY PASS then maybe there would be no problem.   it is your device, your router  etc that i am using.  Tired of all the excuses, and also pertaining to the other comments to the other gentleman, since windows 10 you have no control of when it updates, this I know for fact. it does it when it wants, I'm using window 8 computer cause when I signed up for the EasyCare the guy couldn't figure out how to connect my other computer to it. it had just stopped working so there's another rip off, if I cancel less than 3 months I pay $95 for that service call.

there is no explanation, I get same answer all the time, upgrade to different plan, what part of I'm not going to upgrade anymore ?  you know how hard it is to come up with the $90 a month as it is ?  and for what ?  basically dial up connection with little data.

Have you installed anything like Glasswire to try to see where your data is going?
