Some areas have had plan changes suspended online. You can still call, but at this point I would wait for Viasat-2 in a few weeks when more plans will roll out.

Probably because they don't have a lot of modems available and new plans are going to rollout In about 2 weeks. Now would be a terrible time to upgrade. It would be like buying an iPhone 5 when 10 would be out shortly.

All the plans for me are just the 12mbs ones even tho Gold is available for my area. Viasat has taken down the plans that require the new modem because of the back order issue.

The new new Viasat-2 modems are probably in stock now for the dealers.  They will be available before these old new modems.
