No, I just changed to Liberty 30 last week, it's just a phone call to do it. Once done they do a modem reset from their end so, if you have VOIP phone you need to tell them so they don't do the reset and disconnect the call too soon.

You can also make the change by going to the my.exede.net customer portal and in the right panel, click on Change My Plan. This will show you plans available to you, and you can make the change right there. After selecting the new plan, your modem will reboot and download the required software for the Liberty Plan, and you will be all set.

By doing the change online, you will save yourself the time it takes to get through to a customer service agent.

Hey Joe, not only can you update your plan without any new equipment but you have the option of transition your own package through your personal portal at Myexede.com. I left a link for step by step instructions on this process. If you have any further questions or need assistance give us a call at 855-463-9333. If your service has been suspended for anything other than non-payment, you’ll need to call as well.

I wish it was this easy to change plans, unfortunately for me, it isn't.  I've been a long time customer and recently moved to an area that did not offer the Liberty 18 plan (had to go with Classic 15).  I noticed Liberty 18 is now available, but when I tried to make the change via the website, I received an "processing error message".  I've had "chats" with two different Exede reps and 5 days later, I still cannot change my plan.  The first rep even submitted a "trouble ticket" (whatever that is).  Very unhappy.

The only reason you would need new equipment is if you upgrade to the 25 mbs plan.

Or if you simply want the WiFi modem - which I do and will get ASAP.

Bev, Why do you want the wireless modem? It's gotten some pretty bad reviews and will cost you and extra $5 per month. - Just curious.
