I have a problem just like the guy before me!!! I also was given 30 gigs and we only get 1 a month? What is this crap?I had been bragging on exede now I am so up set with exede when my contract is over I am gone!!  UNLESS your excellent  paying customers get what they are PROMISED!!!  I don't like people who do not fulfill their promise especially the people like me on a very low fixed income. I was brought up that your word is your word and never break a promise even "IF" it cost you money.  I think you will lose a few customers over your broken promise. That is so sad that you can't take someone for their word anymore!!!

We had Dish and they screwed us around too so we dropped them and got exede
Come on guy's when I called about those 30 free gigs the first time around no one said that we had to wait and only get 1 a month,  time to get real with your customer's, the ones who pay your salary!!!

Well, my first thought is; I never heard of the free gig's being given out 1 per month?

The Free Gig Giveaway was set to offer 5 gig's, or less, at a time, until the 30 gig cap for freebies was used. 1 month, 2 months, what ever until they pulled the plug on the FGG gig.

Guess what, they pulled it. JEP mentioned the same deal on a different post. "He got them, then they pulled them."

Have you contacted one of the forum Exede reps? I would suggest that first. Then call names. The installer of your dish is likely a sub-contractor of the Exede system. Who did you get the 1 gig per month deal from?

Just my few Quacks for now. It is the weekend starting out. I have seen this problem before.

Duck I got mine twice, once added on the 6th My data reboots the 8th so I didn't get to use any. Again they were added one morning and taken the same day. That was the 5 gig giveaway. You keep quacking now, my conversations are limited to people I know. Well unless I just had enough. Take care now.

I agree with your post. At this day of age. Everything connected to the internet. You can't do anything without the internet. Like banking or Facebook or even Netflix. They do need to be considered about people on fix income. They need more gig bits for people or unlimited weekend or holidays instead of nights when they know most people are sleeping. But when you live in the country. They know they got you. Take care.

Well apparently at least one individual was given accurate information regarding the Great Gig Giveaway as early as December including: they didn't carry over monthly, needed to be added 5 GB at a time up to a 30 GB maximum, the ability to add was on March 19 and in turn those added would only be available through the March billing period.

https://slickdeals.net/f/7554168-exede-internet-great-gig-giveaway-30-free-gigs-for-current-exede-ac...

In retrospect, not surprising a that promotion solely aimed at taking the sting away from existing customers not eligible for new customer promotions  would expire with promises of new things to come soon.

It's a double edged sword - more data means more congestion (and many are now seeing/experiencing the impact of that)  with a fixed satellite capacity floating somewhere over the equator. Expect little to no relief prior to a new satellite being launched. It's a simple matter of supply and demand - with demand starting to outpace that fixed supply up there. I'm sure ViaSat would like nothing more than to call up the the blue big box store and dispatch the geeks to add more memory to the satellite.

However, ViaSat should have been more transparent regarding the GGG rather than what now appears to be an abrupt, unannounced end to it.

I wouldn't be upset if I had been told about it ending. I would have used it or not and that would have been that. They could have sent out  a mass email to those that have been getting it telling them that it was ending. We conservered our data hard month before last just so we could have the reserve when we needed it. If we had know it was a use it or lose it, we would have had a much more pleasant internet experience for that month. I didn't ask for them to start the promotion, but don't give it to me and then jerk part of it back.

I'm not holding my breath on the promises to come. March has already become April. I have a suspicion that when the news does come out (if it does) people are not going to be jumping up and down in happiness due to the greatness of the news. Exede just doesn't have the data capacity to make people happy.

They over sold no dought. When customers would set in this forum and schedule the data use I knew it was on a short leash. I remember the guy that posted to Kimberly that he would be out of town in May so he didn't need any additional data but to double up in April his wife would be off. He was tickled to death. There is no doubt that whatever plan they come up with it will cost more. I lost all faith in exede. But for now it is the only game in town.

I knew the great give away was only temporary but it would have been nice if they had given a little warning.  I have asked different times when it would be done and no one seem to know.  Also on some of the post I don't understand that some of the Exede team is telling people to get in touch with them and they will see what they can do. What's that about?

I don't know HMC what it is about now but it was about adding free gigs to your account, as a courtesy, Mine which I never used was added for being helpful and I think others was added to compensate for slower speeds or low data or maybe to just keep the fire under control. What I noticed is like last month I just used 7.9 gigs and this month at this rate I'll run out about 5 days early, And I do nothing different. I'm dissapointed in exede but again it's the only game in my part of the world. '' what I did notice and am sure why they stopped  ''  was the fact that certain people would come back time after time asking, And I guess they got the freebe because they would be quiet for awhile and then be back complaining again.

Helen, sorry for the confusion. Those gigs were not part of the plan that you pay for, they were just an extra limited time perk. I'd be happy to still honor that for you, however. Send me an email at exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information when you are in need of gigs and I will get you taken care of.

@Beau I know that wasn't a part of my plan. But what is confusing me is that the gig a bytes thing ended. I know it was a limited thing. But what is confusing me is now the give away is ended that you are still offering the perk. I confuse easy. I'm ding okay with what got left of my data. But thank you for the offer.

HMC, I was responding to the original poster, Helen Harkless Young. Didn't realize you were Helen too. :)

The promotion has ended, but we understand that some people feel burned by it, so our small social media team are honoring it when people request it for the time being.

I am requesting the 30 gigs please. I would truly appreciate it and thank you for responding to me so quickly.  So looking forward to being able to use the internet again without it having to buffer more that I can use it.
PLEASE promise me that you will not take back the 30 gigs you promised me.
Sincerely, Helen Young pawstrudy@gmail.com

Helen Harkless Young, please send me an email at exedelistens@viasat.com referencing this post when you are wanting to use any of those gigs. This was a limited time thing, they were never meant to be permanent, but I will add more if you need them.

Please include your account and contact information in your email, and again, please reference this post. Thanks!

Beau,

We were lured into switching from DISHNet by the promotion of additional data (both the Great Gig Giveaway as well as the 6-month double-data promotion currently advertised on the Exude sales site). We signed up, had our installation go flawlessly, but our installer was unable to figure out how to get us either of these promotions.

I'm requesting *anything* you can offer to someone who switched providers given Exede's advertised promotions. We signed up for the top tier plan too so we're not being cheap.

Appreciatively,

James L

Beau:

Many thanks for your assistance. I sent you an email but got a reply from another employee who was not aware of this string and simply replied that I should check the Exede website on Monday for any new promotional offers. That's not what I wanted and I'm hoping you are able to read my email yourself. (I sent it again Saturday).
