why does the internet work with everything else but online gaming? We just got this internet provider and already frustrated... Also, everything online for my console (Netflix, Espn apps) works fine but the only thing that doesn't work is multiplayer online games.

Because the satellite in orbit is so far away, it takes the signal a very long time to travel. Pings will be over 600ms, not better, online multiplayer games will not work well unless turn based. Nothing you can do, it won't work better.

Why did you just get satellite internet?  What did you have before?  Unfortunately due physics, your multiplayer online games are not going to work.  Sorry!

The high latency inherent to satellite internet (usually 600ms or more) makes online action games either impossible, or very difficult, to play.  Some systems won't even allow a connection if the latency is too high, and this is likely what's happening.

It's one of the unfortunate drawbacks to satellite internet.  A few companies are presently working on Low Earth Orbit satellite internet systems, which will have latency that is MUCH lower than GEO satellite internet, but the availability of LEO internet is likely at least two or three years away.
