I attempted to get on line at midnight--no Internet.  The next morning I attempted every hour starting at 6:00 a.m.  We did not get service back until 10:00 a.m.  It caused us great inconvenience.  When this all started out usage was 1.0 gigs, well below the curve of an allowable 2.0 gigs for the date.

did you have any bad weather? It's spring, trees are leafing out, in there a tree that is blocking the line of sight from your dish to the sky and, needs to be trimmed to prevent that if wind or rain causes it to block your dish? (have one that need it every couple of years because it sags just enough when wet or full of hickory nuts to block my dish.)

Was there weather at your gateway location?

If not then it's possible they were doing some repairs or maintenance at your gateway.

This is all assuming you aren't have problems with connectivity on a regular basis and, this outage was a one time thing and, it's fine today.

The skies were cloudless.  The air was still without a breath of wind.  There is a clear line of sight between our receiver and the sky.  The receiver is anchored to a large steel pipe set in a block of concrete as big as a small closet.

This type of outage has been happening too often.  When it does, service seems to return "on the hour."

We are never forewarned and no explanations are ever made.  This last time was outrageous.  Ten hours!

That sounds like maintenance at your gateway but, when you call in, they should be able to tell you if that was the case.

I have read that they are doing some work on some beams that's ongoing so, that might be what's going on for you.

They seemed to have finished with mine, I had outages for 2 to five hours off and on for a few months and, congestion was always red on my beam through last week (using ESVT) but, it's green this week and, for the last month, only weather has disconnected me. Speeds are better too so, as annoying as it is, if that's what's happening for you, it's a good thing in the long run.
