Totally disappointed with the quality or lack of, in this internet service. We switched from Frontier, due to lack of service or slow service. We were told this would be much better even when we were out of our allotted high speed time. That there would be no problems that the hookup speed would still beat Frontiers. Well, guess what,,ITS NOT. I've been with Exede since Jan,2016.. You have ticked me off quicker than Frontier did,,they at least took a few years..and I'm paying more now,,for the same incompetent service..

First, you switched from an unlimited ISP to Exede which is metered. Speed are up to 12Mbps while you have not used your data allowance for the month. After that, it depends on your beam and how congested it is as well as how heavy a user you are.

Liberty plans can be slower than 1Mbps at peak times, on Pass data on some beams. Most average 1 to 5 Mps, which yes is slower than the 6Mbps Frontier offers but, if you are not in DAP, then you should see speeds up to 12 Mbps. And no that does not mean you will download that fast form every server but, Viasat has no control over servers they don't own. For example I can see 12Mbps or faster from Trion servers and 250Kbps or slower form EA servers within the space of five minutes. Viasat has nothing to do with either, it's just the servers I connect to.

..and you still have the extra delay that your signal takes to reach the satellite and for the satellite to transmit to the portal ground station.  Satellite internet can never compete with a ground based service unless it is ground based dialup.
