I've only had Excede during 2015 Summer. Now with cloudy days I lose reception. Is the dish not aimed perfectly?

I would  say it's not. It has to be raining HARD here, or some serious rain clouds between our dish and the satellite before we lose signal. It sounds like you need an installer visit.

OK. Same with my Dish Satellite... It only loses signal  if some really nasty weather is to the south.  Thanks David.

Wonder what your Rx SNR is in clear weather?

When you say you lose reception, do you mean the middle two LEDs on the modem are off or doing a slow blink?  (Just trying to make the distinction between a modem dropout vs. router issues)

The two middle LEDs blink slowly. No internet via LAN wire either (eliminating the router). I wonder if my cheap satellite TV signal strength meter will work with the Excede Dish? Thanks for the advice.

Wow, I didn't click the link you provided until after my previous reply. The SNR is 8.1dB and the cable attenuation is 14.3dB. Rx power is -42.5dBm.

William - OK...Does indeed sound like your dropping the satellite connection, which goes along with your correlation with cloudy weather.  Usually though, clouds aren't enough to drop the link, it should require significant precipitation.  Your attenuation is high, but tolerable.  Wonder how long your coax is from the dish to the modem?  Your Rx SNR is good.  Check these numbers the next time you have dropped a link.

Just to add a post here mine is usually good up till about a min or two before it starts raining quite hard. I have noticed it actually to be a good rain gauage. If I loose internet and its kind of cloudy out usually means in the next min our two it starts pouring. Other then that I don't usually loose signal so for you to say you loose signal when just cloudy is strange.

I only loose internet during very heavy downpours. In the old Wildblue days, that was not the case, but Exede works during normal rains and snowfalls, just goes out with the heavy rains. My Directv usually goes away long before my internet.

Same here. I lose signal and then the rain comes real hard.

If it ever rains again here in central California I'll chime in with how things work from this angle.  (sigh)
