We have to use our mobile phones to watch Netflix because Viasat is useless.

My guess is that you have already blown through your priority data for the month. Streaming takes a lot of data per hour, like 2 to 4 GB.

It is unlimited but your speed isnt. My typical speed most days was less than 1 Mbps. Found a different provider and Viasat is just a bad memory now.

Unlimited is not truly unlimited, once you go over priority data all bets are off, you can be slowed to the point the service is barely good for checking e-mail. Unlimited just means they won't disconnect you when you go over your data limit.

Simultaneous multiplayer gaming?  That will never work correctly on satellite, no way possible, can't break the laws of physics.  You'll need to use cell service for that, it will work better.  In fact, if you have decent service, you likely should have looked around for a plan from them, most of the carriers have an option.  You were used to being able to do those things, did you move?  What did you have before?

Enjoy your two year contract!

Sometimes you just read something like this and shake your head.

So many people fail to understand the limitations of satellite internet.

Only people who have used residential satellite service have a clue. Between marketing and neglect to do due diligence in research, who the heck would believe that in 2020 internet service would still be so limited?

That's true. People really believe it is unlimited and have no idea what latency is.

As I rarely do I have to side with Viasat this time, looks like we have a customer that expected satellite internet to be the same as hardwired broadband without data limits. Even if the aforementioned customer was on an uncongested magic spot beam they would have complained.

What plan are you on and how much priority data have you used for your current billing cycle?
