New customer, happy so far

I am a new Exede customer. I switched over from HughesNet after 4 years of sometimes very disappointing and slow internet. The installer showed up on Wednesday, within the time frame I was given. He was very polite, and before he even started the installation, went over any questions I had and pointed out things like data caps, latency and weather interruptions, all things that are a part of satellite internet service. He also made sure I was aware of the two year contract, cost of the service and some other fees that might show up on my bill from time to time. He got started on setting up my dish, and since I already had my old HughesNet dish on a pole in the back yard, he removed the old dish and put the Exede dish on the same pole. He rn new cable from the dish to the house, and even buried it. With that done, he set up the Exede modem, and once that was connected to the internet with his laptop, he made sure that my router was working properly, and checked the internet access on both my desktop and my laptop. He also helped me set up an email account, and showed me how to view the modem status, and set me up to view my data meter. He also showed me how to view the eSVT tool, and explained what some of the things on that tool mean. He did an excellent job, and was very customer oriented.

I am very happy with Exede. I am on the Liberty 18 Plan, and I am happy with the speed I am getting. Yesterday afternoon we had some bad thunderstorms roll through this area, but except during the worst storms, my internet stayed connected.

I was fortunate to have a great installer also, and I think that may be a key to continued great service! I've had Exede for almost one year, and so far, I'm very happy with it.  This forum is great, and the regulars on here are very helpful.  (I actually only joined the forum so that if I need their help, I won't have to go through the hassle of registering the first time :)

Great to hear Danielle and crazyabouthorses. I had a great install over 4 years ago, and it makes a world of difference in how well the internet will work for you.

Do your installer a favor, Danielle... let everybody know who he is and which dealer he works for. It'll help others in your area to get a good install also. As HMC points out the key to satisfaction with Exede often starts with a quality install.
