New modem, Chgd password, can't get online

I need some help. I called support & they say they'll have to send someone - 5 days from now.
Yesterday I received a new WIFI modem, set it up, then went online to change the access password. Since then, I cannot access any page, although my status says I'm connected & when I go to 192.168.1.1:8080, it asks for my user ID & password, but will not accept.
Tech support says I am showing as offline. I don't really trust that they can't help me by phone. They didn't try anything at all.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd very much appreciate them. And thanks in advance.

The default username is admin and the default password is admin. If you previously went in and then changed those values to your own user name/password AND then forgot them, then that is entirely on you. If you could not remember a simple combination you should of left it at the defaults a child could tell you that.

I didn't forget anything. What I said was, " it asks for my user ID & password, but will not accept." But thanks for playing along.

And - it's "should have", not "should of". A child could tell you that. That's what you get for being a smart-ass.

Look in the manual.  There should be a way to do a hard reset, which will restore the password to the install default.  Then go from there. If you are talking about the new Exede WiFi Modem, there is a reset button access just above the power connector.  That will get you back to Admin, Admin.

Hi kanzz,  Were you able to reset your modem?  If not, please send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com. Thanks!

Thank you for trying to help, everyone. I was on the phone with tech support twice on Christmas Eve for over 2 hours total, to no avail.
Come to find out, it is not a password issue, but a known issue with the new wifi modems. Now I will have to wait for a tech support person to come to my house next Tuesday.

Incredibly easy fix for the tech support person who came nearly 100 miles to my house.
In the software, he disconnected and then reconnected the ethernet and did a clean install of the WiFi modem. Guy tells me this has been the fix for many people with the new equipment.
You'd think they could've easily walked me through that on the phone, saving the company a lot of money. NBD, we'll all cover those costs, right? Grr
