New customer alarmed! How can we have used 1.6 G on our account in initial use of an hour or so, only updating addresses online, and me on facebook (No Video watching on fb or any where else). Auto play on fb turned off, auto updates turned off. Only two devices, my laptop and hubby's desktop. No uploading done. We are alarmed at this amount of data usage.
unplug your lan cable from the back of the modem (do not power it down) duering a fresh data reset and at late nite free zone if possible. leave it unplugged for several days or more (the longer the better) use a cellphone to login to www.myexede.net/dashboard from public wifi or cell data plan. this is the quickest way to eliminate where the problem is.
i had the same issue for months , some thing on our internet was eating huge amounts of data in a 1 to 2 hour range , from 1 gig to 2 gigs .. i have a 10 gig plan and in about 1 week it was all used up .. so here is what i found on my router .. the data hunger monster was my moms Laptop running windows 10 , it was constantly talking to the cloud and the internet , now get this , while the computer was closed and folded down .. it wasnt shut off or powered down .. it was in idle or sleep mode , but still online ... scary .. So her laptop was the issue.. also i put the router on a power strip and the internet is never on unless i use it .. other wise i kill the power to the router and the modem , to make sure nothing is online or using data ..
I have had Exede for 3 months. I have the 10gig data plan. It is gone in about 12 days or less. If everyone is having the same issue with the data , maybe we are not getting what we are paying for. Instead of thinking it is us, maybe it is something on behalf of the provider. I would not recommend this service to anyone. The best internet service is not available in my area, which is Windstream. I moved, and this has been the worst experience ever trying to obtain internet service in a rural area.
