I am not sure if MyeSVT is available to all Exede direct subscribers yet. It is still in the beta testing phase, and several of us are part of the testing phase.

Also, it is currently not going to be available to those subscribers who get their internet through third party groups such as NRTC, DishNet and others reselling the product.

The website for eSVT is working, I was just on it a few minutes ago.

Hi All Steve is correct.  My eSVT is not available to all just yet.  We are beta testing at this time.  When it becomes available, we will let you all know!

Sorry, we are hoping to get the http->https redirect set up soon.  For the time being, if you get that error ensure the URL has HTTPS in it (you may have to add the "s" in https manually depending on where you found the link):

Thanks for trying it out!

Yes, I've tried logging in before and after -- to no avail -- the link just sends me back to my log-in page even when I'm logged in

It appears it may be a problem with Firefox; I am  currently logged on to myesvt using Safari.

@Steve+@Tom: have you been able to get it to work okay?  The login will timeout about every so often (two hours is what I think it is set at) username/password will be required again.
We know the disclaimer is a bit pesky, so we'll see what we can do about that.

eSVT blows. It's all just crap they come up with out of nowhere it seems to me. Half of last months data and half of this months data so far went to"storage". REALLY? That's the best you can do? There is only 2 devices in my home that ever connect to my wireless, which has bomb security btw, and neither have Google drive or any other cloud service on them. The only link to the cloud is from my phone which has never even connected on my network. I don't even think I've logged into my cloud once since I started service with execs. Ah its just one lie in a pile of lies that I've been told by this company. They record the customer service calls but won't review them for nothing. They tell me I'll pretty much have all the data I'll ever want for 80$a month. Only to tell me in a letter by mail 3 days after I sign the contract at the install, the same install that the they said was free, that I only have 10 gigs and then they burn me for half of it. Then on top of it my buddies tracfone net loads pages faster. Even tho myeSVT says my shit is at 15 down 5 up or some crap. Storage? What a joke just another way to make us feel empowered while we're bent over. I probably used a gig reading this thread.

You need to empower yourself - determine if your router has any traffic monitoring features and use it to verify any discrepancies in usage count. If not, install a freely available traffic monitoring application on all of your attached devices/operating systems and verify any discrepancies. There are a wide variety of traffic monitoring applications - I'd recommend one but don't know what operating system(s) you use. But if you should just happen to be a Windows 7, 8, 10 user - try Glasswire. ViaSat's tool won't provide you with the level of detail need to really determine where your data is going (it really is not their responsibility IMHO nor would it be advisable for privacy concerns).

Sounds like you're on the Liberty 10 Plan, have blown through your priority data and in Liberty Pass mode - again just guessing since all you've done is vented and provide no substance to go on.

@C.Schick thanks for trying esvt and telling us what you think.  With my.esvt we are trying to see if we give some users more information (mostly the same as care agents) if it will help, and I read what you are saying is that (1) you don't trust the information and (2) the information that is there well, for your case, is crap.  If you are interested, I'll offer more background and to help you with your case.

Storage: I agree with you that this can be an unsatisfying categorization if you are trying to understand your usage, especially if it doesn't connect to what you think you are doing, and because it's often passive rather than deliberate traffic.
- What is "Storage:" file transfers (FTP, tar or file transfers in IM) and online storage like iCloud, Dropbox, Google drive etc.
- How do we measure it: traffic shapers that are designed to help manage the quality of service delivered to subscribers like you and me, also have the ability to use rules to guess at the type of traffic.  Critically, this is not looking at the personal contents of traffic, just patterns, like protocols used, where traffic is going from or to
- Why "storage": we've modeled our measurement of traffic after the standards set by the industry leader in the space, Sandvine.  If you are keen on reading more about traffic classification and internet trends here is a 2015 report that includes definitions we generally follow in the appendix and you can get a more up to date report here.
- Why just categories in my.esvt: as mentioned above, traffic categorization is a guess, it is a constantly moving target as the internet evolves and increased use of secure traffic makes it harder to tell what traffic is what.  We don't believe can do this traffic classification accurately in all cases so we show it in eSVT to care agents as a guide and are offering it to subscribers through my.eSVT as a guide as well

Call Recording: I would be happy listen to your calls if you like, and post back here my assessment of how we did on them.  It's a 12 month time horizon, which does no good for today's frustration, but one of our key projects is to make sure we are doing more with these recordings, I agree where we are today is not acceptable.

Your Usage and Devices: If you'd like more help looking into where your data is going, let us know.  We can look at the data we have today, and also have some options for digging deeper into devices seen and where data is going if you are interested.

@old labs: I also like your suggestions on traffic monitoring locally.  Ideally we don't want customers to have to do this, but it is where we are now.  The SB2+ with an integrated provides a way to measure usage by device (just like any other capable router could) and as you well known capacity improvements will, over time, reduce the need to watch closely.  This is a long game though, and pain relief is needed now.

@C.Schick: If you want to go further, send me or Diana your info, or post your mac address if you are comfortable, and we can go from there.

One possibility no one has addressed is will this tool work for customers that are not direct WB/Exede contract users...like the Dish, DTV or Co-Op customers...I remember other functions did not work for non-direct-contracted WB/Exede customers...maybe some of those customers can comment on this...

At the moment, it requires myexede credentials, which requires getting the service through a retail channel (i.e. not NRTC or DISH).  Changing that would require both demand for it and working with wholesale partners for approval.

Hey Sandy!

Storage is pretty much cloud services, (iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc)

Most of these services offer auto photo uploads, data backups, etc.  That'll eat up your data pretty quick, depending on how many devices, and what's being backed up.

Check the settings on these programs, and adjust as needed.

Storage includes mostly FTP, HTTP, RAR, Game downloads, be that form a website or via a game launcher like Steam, Glyph or, Origin Games, file hosting downloads, (Mediafire, DropBox, etc...) Cloud service like iCloud, Ondrive, Picasa, etc... Remote backup service, online backup service. One Note, iPhone backing up to iCloud, etc...

Basically if it isn't a system update (Operating System Update) and isn't audio or video or, form an audio or video service like iTunes, Netflix, etc... but, it does involve a file transfer - it's storage.

Disable all cloud services, minimize file uploads and downloads, make sure your mobile devices are only backing themselves up to your computer, not to the cloud service or and online/everywhere location unless you really need all of your stuff from those devices available everywhere. Try to share photos or download files of any kind during the free zone (if you have it.) Disable automatic updates for games and other programs or applications. (I allow only operating system and antivirus/firewall to auto update, anything else I will update manually if I need it updated.)

I am a new customer and trying to manage and understand data usage. I appreciated being able to see daily and hourly relative data usage on the myeSVT tool, but would really like to see the y-axis (Data Consumed) labeled with mb values. Yes, I am a number geek, so an unlabelled data bar chart is pretty frustrating.

I agree with you Stephen, I started a thread about this issue earlier this week.  I don't think someone even needs to be a geek to expect to see the numbers the columns represent, it's pretty ridiculous it's not there.

@ Stephen and David

This is a older thread but we're actually ending the eSVT beta test for our customers and will release a usage meter tool that will use a lot of what eSVT offers. With that said we (employees that troubleshoot) don't even have a way to see the specific numbers/y-axis. We can see when spikes in usage happens, what days are used the most and the type of data but what we don't have is the numbers yet. I think some of it is being Too Informative like to a invasion of privacy type level and keeping it simpler for our customer base. There are some 3rd party options like glasswire or some modems will give you a detailed report along the lines of what you are indicating what you want to see.

Thanks Brad.  So does that mean you're going to introduce the new tool and THEN end eSVT?  Because taking away eSVT without giving users the new tool would be pretty bad :-).  Hopefully you weren't referring to the new Facebook bot with this post.

When I go to EasyChat on Facebook Messenger, all that appears for View My Usage is the very plain speedometer like meter, the same that appears on the Exede Dashboard page, which has been like that since Exede introduced the EasyChat bot last year. Is this all we are going to have now?

"all that appears for View My Usage is the very plain speedometer like meter"  Which is utterly useless for a person who is trying to control their usage and figure out what's happening with it.

It is surprising to me how poor Exede's customer service is in terms of "getting it" and prioritizing certain features.  They are selling a metered service and one of the top complaints on these forums is "how the heck is it possible I'm using all this data", they probably get in thousands of support confrontations over the years with angry clients about it, and now they're taking away the one half baked beta solution they had that gave customers some ability to monitor it.

Other companies that are less dependent on metered usage get it, Verizon, Comcast all make it easy to look at data usage.

Below is a screenshot from when I experienced some crazy data usage this month that was going to result in hitting my 150 GB limit half way through the cycle. Because I was able to see it in myEsvt, I was able to figure it out pretty quickly.  Now I know I'm not the average customer (nor are most of the people commenting on these forums), but just because Exede wants to give customers simple should not equal taking all detail away from those who can use it.

And telling people how they can buy routers or use software to track it is not an appropriate response either.  Especially when your (Exede) cheap router can't even be put into bridged mode to play well with other routers! And ya I know, there are suboptimal workarounds for that too, but that's beside the point.

Just don't take away a useful tool you've given customers for this new much less useful tool.

Edit: the big question is, if a more detailed myEVT is coming later this year (which probably means it could be 2 years), why not keep the current one up for people until then?!

My guess is that they are   going to take eSVT away before anything else is available to us to monitor data, except for that simple meter that only shows total usage for the cycle.

This morning as I logged in to the eSVT tool, there is a half a page of script instructing one to go to the Facebook Messenger EasyChat, with instructions of how to get to it. The eSVT page is  still there, following that message, but Alex did say that the eSVT tool would be taken down on July 22.

The appearance is that the Exede team is not responding to any questions or comments about this subject.
