Dan - Assuming that you aren't having bad weather such as snow or heavy rain, you most likely have an equipment problem on your end if you are experiencing frequent outages.  Send your problem description along with your name/address/phone number to ExedeListens@ViaSat.com
Actually, most people that have DSL available would choose that over satellite because of data caps and latency.

Yes Dan, do respond to Diana she can help!  Meanwhile, one quick check of your modem lights.  If you have the top 3 lights on solid bright or flickering bright, then you likely are having a router issue.  If you have all 4 lights on with the same scenario, also likely a router issue.  I have found that some routers just do not do well on our service.  Cisco, Linksys,  Amped, and some Belkin routers like to do what I call go to sleep, and you have to power cycle them to start working again.  This is frustrating to our customers and it often get's blamed on our service.  I have spent a lot of time on the phone to the manufacturers of some of these routers and they can not figure it out.  So we stopped selling and recommending them to our customers.

My recommendation is a DLINK router.  We have several hundred of these installed without any problems.  They simply work and very rarely need attention.  The only time I have to reset mine is after a power fluctuation or outage.  And once we swap out one of the other routers our customers may have had, the problem is gone for good, and the customer satisfied!

Hope this helps you or someone else out there!
