I'm wondering how far I can locate my Exede dish from my modem to achieve a more permanent location free of tree branch obstructions. It appears to me that it might require a 250' to 300' run. I would have electrical service near this location that I could use to power a signal amplifier if required. My house is pretty much surrounded by mature trees. I cut a major limb off of one of them for the initial installation of the dish and it's been relocated once since then and I can see limbs growing into the dish sky view which is going to require another relocation. These limbs are too high for me to reach. At Viasat's current price of $200 for relocation, I would prefer to avoid too many future relocations. Plus I'm running out of clear view sites near the house. I expect to be having to depend on satellite service for my foreseeable future since I'm nearly a half mile off the road in a rural area and get very poor cellular service.
