I am experiencing a rash of "mail delivery failure" messages.

In March, approx. 22 sent emails bounced back with this message.  Also, most of the "mail delivery failure" messages back to me arrive a few days after the original message has been sent. These are contacts with whom email messaging has not been a problem in the past.

I would say that within the past six months, the mail delivery failure problem has reared its head on occasion.  This month has been very difficult.

Is this becoming a general problem for customers?

Below is the start of the mail delivery failure messages --

This message was created automatically by the mail system (ecelerity).

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

>>> "this space has the recipient's email address" (while not connected): 554 5.4.7 [internal] exceeded max retries without delivery

No problem for me. I switched to using my Gmail account a year ago. I have had any stray emails to my Wildblue account automatically forwarded to my Gmail account. Problem solved.

Yes, change over to Gmail and you will have zero issues going forward.

The answer is simple. But people just don't want to take advice.

Providing an email address with a ISP is so 1990's. I wish Viasat wouldn't give them out anymore to new subs.

Viasat used Gmail as their email service until Gmail stopped doing that for all companies, so use what Viasat use to use, Gmail.

There was never any trouble either. But then I think Google figure out, why have their email rebranded by all these companies when you could just use Gmail anyhow and get all the credit and name recognition.

A plus is you don't have to spell "gmail" either when giving out your email address. I got tired of "now how do you spell that???" questions.

RTD,

Please send an email to us at ViasatListens@viasat.com with your account number, and please attach a .txt file with the error messages you receive.

Matt, I've had an issue over the last couple weeks too.  I called customer support and they reset my email and I thought things were fixed but evidently not.  I sent an email Thursday and just got a non delivery message yesterday.  Weird thing was that it was sent to an individual with an AOL address and the error message shows it was rejected by DirectTV.  I'll forward the rejection.
