I'm a bit of a Mac nerd, so new OS releases are always pretty intriguing to me. Apple stuffs a lot into these releases, however, so it's good to plan out when you download and install these upgrades. Weighing in at over 6 GB, the new 'El Capitan' release is pretty large, so you'll want to think ahead a bit. If you're on a 10 GB plan, this will eat that up pretty quickly, but if you wait until just before your bill cycle resets (or use the Free Zone), it can be no big deal.

Here are some tips for Exede users for updating their Mac OS.

I don't know if you have ever mentioned the use of iCloud, but it looks like that can be another big data-muncher as well - one that might take some people by surprise.  I disabled that on my Macs.
