MAC Address Returns "invalid device"

While trying to activate my home phone system, I get to the page that requires the MAC address from the exede voice adapter. When I enter the MAC address 001099xxxxxx, the system tells me this is an Invalid Device. What do I do now?

If you had included the brand and model of your new phone someone might find out a thing or 2 about it.
