Okay deep breaths here, so where to start? Okay so we were sold this service by a customer service rep from viasat told the unlimited gold 100 package would be for gamers and movie streamers which was a total lie! Now Fast foward 4 days in to the service my whole 100gb are used and gone and now im crawling along at .6mbps and barely any service. Then i call tech support an I'm told oh well here is your options we can send a tech out or you can pay an ungodly amount of money to disconnect. My question is how can you be sold a service under false pretenses and not recieve any speeds close to what was advertised? Seriously i want to pack up all this equipment and toss this **** at viasat. Excuse my language but come on 160 plus a month is alitt of money for. 6mbps

Oh, where to start.  I'm guessing you just moved to the country to enjoy the laid back sedentary lifestyle.  And your previous ISP had a datacap of 2-3 Terabytes which you never got close to.

1.  I've yet to see any promises of minimum speeds promised by ViaSat ...  all speeds are " up to xx".
2. Any sales rep that would say a 100Gb satellite plan was suitable for gaming and streaming was shady at best and unscrupulous at least.  You have to pick your games to be able to play any game and with a 600+ ms latency it is a challenge.
3.  Usurping your data allowance of 100Gb in 4 days is data intensive.  You need to closely monitor what is using it up to be able to deal with a 100 Gb cap.   It is one of the things to monitor just as water well and septic operation to enjoy the rural lifestyle.  How much data have you used in 4 days?  Are you now over the 100 Gb data?   If you are indeed over your data, the $95 service call will do nothing for your speeds.  You're being throttled by the dataplan.

Does any of this fit or am I off base?

If you hsve alternate forms of internet available, pay the early termination fee and move on. You will be way better off in the long run. Based on your usage needs, you are never going to be satisfied with Viasat.

Was it a reseller that told you the plan was for gamers and streamers or a Viasat employee? If someone lied to make a sale Viasat could let you out of your contract without penalty.

Also agree someone who burns through 100GB in 4 days isn't going to be happy with anything other than hardwired cable.

Often I dont think it is lying as much as ignorance. Unless you actually have had and used satellite internet, you have no concept of its limitations.

Most of them have no concept of the limitations of satellite either, especially a sales person or front line tech support.

Doesn't Viasat record phone conversations with customers? If someone lied to make a sale there should be a record of it and you should get a full refund and let out of your contract free of charge.
