I just hit our 12 GB priority data  little while ago.  I will report now the next few days how well (or poorly if that is the case) that Liberty works.  I don't see anything on the meter about the Liberty Pass being on, but it shows we have used the full 12 GB.  I had a minor blip where we lost internet access (I was downloading updates and had 0.1 GB left when I started) then it came back.  Possibly the modem reset as I hit the 12 GB?  (Perhaps a moderator could chime in here and conform how that works) but I haven't noticed much change in the internet though its early in the morning right now.  But so far looking promising  :)

I suspect that you will see that plan become the norm like the classic plans are for most everywhere.  Now I don't know what they are thinking for plans and changes once the new bird is launched next year but I have a feeling that for now at least these could become the new standard plan.  From the few posts I've seen about the Liberty plans and speeds it don't look like they lock the modems to the 1-5 Mb range.  Now again too that could change as they push out the plan to more beams and more people switch over to it they may set a hard cap on the pass portion to like a 5-8Mb speed.

So far today my speeds have been spiking around 15 up and 3 down, or in effect for the daytime hours no real change from before.  This is very promising for my husband to be able to continue to work from home reliably even when on the Liberty Pass now in place.  We'll see how evening speeds are.  I can live even with periods where it might bog down (that's the time to go do something else or read a book ;)) if we can get speeds like this during the daytime on average.  So far very impressed.  It was hard not to be nervous as we approached the 12 GB cap but so far so good.

Jacqueline,

Please do keep us informed as to how it works out - it'll be interesting to hear it from someone with first hand experience after transitioning to a Liberty plan.

So far we haven't seen any difference in speed day or night.  I'm guessing it's partly because the time of year we are in people may be spending less time on line in the evenings.  So I'm guessing they are not doing a throttle UNLESS a person becomes abusive of the system (i.e. if I suddenly started downloading many GB of data, streaming continuously in HD  etc) then they are going to push the priority back even further (at least that is what I am assuming) and/or perhaps restrict to the 1 to 5 mentioned in the plan as the highest available speed.  So far we continue to be pretty content with how it is working for us.

Hi Jacqueline, to answer your question , if you go over your Priority Data limit, the Liberty Pass kicks in to give you 1 to 5 Mbps download speeds. The speed and experience you get has to do with the time of day, the network traffic in your area and the type of activity you’re doing online:  Exede Diana

yea its not unlimited per say, if you start with heavy usage on it they will slow you down to a crawl like a normal dap but other wise if you just continue with light usage and only watch like one movie a week while on your liberty pass you will most likely not see the difference compared to your normal.  Now if your speeds get slow at night now they could slow down a little more while on the pass but yes over all I think its a good plan

I undestand that but Casair internet's plans which are unlimited go by speed. For unlimited data under Casiar a 5MB download would cost the same as I'm paying for my 10 gig plan under Exede with really good speeds. Also way Casair towers going up in rural area's I can see congestion down the road. That is what happened when had dial up. Unlimited went to 6 gig a day got so bad couldn't even do updates. So staying with Exede and see what's coming.

It continues to work well for us.  We don't stream much, especially this time of year but I ran a couple youtube videos just to test and they worked fine.  I'm still being conscious of resolution when I stream something and set it to conserve data use as I would on any other plan.  Hopefully that will keep us in the "lighter" user category  most of the time. It's great to just be able to continue to use the internet after reaching the 12 GB number.  This is the type of plan many people were wanting.

I would like to get the 12gig  Liberty Plan so will keep waiting until  I can get it.  Sooner or later it should be offered to more people.  So I'll be here waiting for it to become available to me. WAITING.  :-)
