The first month of using Liberty Pass was outstanding.  If it continues to work as well as it did the first month this is a great plan for the majority of people using Exede.

We hit the 12 GB limit 10 days before the end of our cycle.  For the remaining 10 days we really didn't notice any difference at all in our ability to use the internet.  Now I feel comfortable if I see a short new or related video I want to view I can just watch it.  I didn't stream movies or programs at all this time simply because I am busy with other things this time of year but streaming was active when I did watch short videos and such.  A few random speed checks kept coming back in the 10 to 12 range most of the time.  So with the type of use I was doing this month our speed didn't seem to be impacted at all.

So Liberty is definitely going to be a plan that should appeal to the majority of users.  I believe as long as someone doesn't become a "data hog" and try doing a lot of HD streaming or downloading tons of data it feels like a plan with no limit.  One thing certainly will be doing is if/when I do want to stream something continue to set down resolution to conserve the amount of data we are pulling.  If the speeds stay that high it would still cause a default to HD if I am not careful and I suspect since they say heavy users of Liberty Pass would experience slower speeds than lighter users they will clamp down if someone abuses the system but otherwise you should be able to click along pretty normally.

I would be curious if Alex or anyone could shed some light on the roll out of the liberty plan to more beams/ fully implemented network wide. I know there is a schedule, I guess the question is can that be made public or can you share some generic information about it?

Thanks

A little bitty hint about when it might be to more beams.

I would just love to get the 12 GB Liberty Plan. But don't think it's out for me yet. It would be perfect for me.

Glad to hear Jacqueline is enjoying her Liberty. So far, this plan has worked pretty well for those who can get it. As for expanding it, we chose the current beams because they had the capacity to handle the extra data usage Liberty requires. If you're not in a Liberty area now, chances are it will remain that way -- at least until we launch our new satellite. Our primary goal is to keep the network from getting too full in areas and seeing service degrade. But, things change so if and when they do we'll certainly let everyone know.
