Liberty 12. Liberty pass almost never works

We were told that between 5pm to 2am would be the slowest time, but even over an hour and a half past the 2am mark I was still not getting anywhere near the advertised 1-5mbps we were promised, and the internet usually gets throttled by about 2pm 3hrs before the start of peak time.  I set an alarm to wake me up a 2:30am so i could get some downloads for work a couple nights ago and was getting about .4mbps set another alarm for an hour later and same speeds had to waste $10 to buy an extra gig so could finish. Big surprise when I spend more money it magically starts working properly so i know it’s not my router (which I just got) or any tech issue. On the rare occasions it actually works we get 1-1.5mbps at the most. Even when we have our priority data we get at most 5-6mbps. I want this fixed or I want my money back for every month you fail to keep up your end of the contract.

HI Tyler, I think the difference between your speeds is that after your priority data is used you are probably being put behind other users that still have priority data available.  So after you purchased another Gig, you then had priority data available and didn't have to go to the back of the line, so to speak.

Its tough trying to get entertainment and work: while having  to manage your data, are you on the liberty 12 plan?  In any case you should program your updates for your system during the free zone and attempt to get other downloads during that time period, this will leave you with more priority data during normal hours and give you the best chance to get reasonable speeds.

Like I just said in my post.I tried at about 4 am and it still doesn't work. You can't " program your updates for your system during the free zone" if it never comes on. They're just trying to scam people out of more money by forcing them to buy more data or upgrade the plan. If they don't want to keep their end of the contract then I won't keep mine. If I have to put a hold on the payment I will. Until Exede/Visat starts doing their job they won't see another penny from me.

You should send an email to Viasatlistens@viasat.com describing your issue. You should be getting good speeds after midnight.

Something isn't right if buying priority data gives you good speed during off peak times, yet you still can't get 1 mbps during Liberty Pass hours.

Tyler's next few days are going to go like this:

1.  Tyler puts a hold on his payment method to ViaSat

2.  Calls start coming from the collection agency

3.  And then the visit from the local sheriff

Or the better route for Tyler would be to follow up like Mr. Rice has suggested.
