It's 6:30PM Thursday and my speed is 98Kbps pure crap. I pay for 25Mbps, can't hardly load a Web page. This has been going on for weeks

It is what it is Tim.  Everyone wants to be on the Internet when they get home from work.  Ergo everyones speed drops and especially those that have used up their priority data.  On a shared bandwidth system everyone in your cell is sucking off the same straw.

Do you want guaranteed bandwidth and speed?  It's available.  It's an enterprise level or business type system and your going to pay upwards of $1000 a month for it.  Interested?  Residential satellite Internet such as Exede or Hughesnet operates on a razor thin margin and barely eek out a profit as they are constantly having to update and launch new satellites.

The Internet 'pipe' you are on is like the water pipe in your house.  You can run the dishwasher and take a shower at the same time no problem.  But also run the clothes washer and flush the toilet and water the grass at the same time and what happens to your water pressure?  Goes down to a trickle.  It's the same way with your satellite system.

This is the price we pay for living out in rural areas where there are no other options.  It is what it is and pitching a fit because you didn't do due diligence won't help.  If you want to watch a movie after you get home at night you can.  Use a download manager and run a torrent application or do a direct download but do it during the free period in the middle of the night.  When you get out of bed in the morning your download is waiting for you and you can watch it offline when you get home from work.
