Is wifi free after midnight?

After midnight, we're supposed to have free data usage. What I want ot know is does that include wifi usage too?

Hi Donna,

Your Wifi is used to connect  devices to your router.   So that connection does not require the use of your data, however if the device you are using like a lap top, smart phone, ipad uses the WIFI to connect to your internet to surf the web etc. then that connection to the internet uses your allotted data.

Depending on what plan you have, you may have a free zone.  Some of the free zones use to start at midnight until 5 AM, however i haven't seen any free zones offered other than ones that start at 3 AM til 5 AM.   So check your plan if it indicates a free zone, you will not be charged any data usage during those few hours.

If your plan has the Free Zone, then any usage that passes through the modem is unmetered for that time.  Wifi is simply the router function of the modem/router combo unit, any information sent still goes through your modem.
