Is VS2 Down?

Went to bed around 11PM and had internet. Woke up around 3AM and had nothing. Couldn't even access the modem page, nothing would show. Now around 6:30 AM the modem page is showing but only says scanning.

I'm on beam 329 according to the old beam maps. Can anyone confirm if there are any issues or not?

Billy,

There are no outages as of this time.  Not sure about when you've posted, but I'm reaching out for more info as I type.

Most likely a bad p-tria. I've already run into one on an install....did the same thing.

Thanks Andy, I figured it was one of the two but was leaning more towards the modem. I guess I will find out when somebody actually shows up to fix it.

Andy,

Looks like you were right. It was a bad p-tria. Service tech said it looks like some water got into it. We did have a storm the night it went out, though it didn't go out during the storm. If water can get into them, I hope this doesn't keep happening.

Internet is working and back to normal speeds. Though my modem status page is still not showing correctly. This is what is shows:

I assume resetting the modem may fix it but I haven't tried yet. Thanks for the help.

Just a guess, but try a hard refresh in your browser - works for me when symptoms like that occur. Particularly if a select all (Ctrl+A) shows the text.

Varies depending on browser - but Ctrl+F5 typically works on many browsers.

Thanks for the follow-up Billy. You probably won't see water intrusion again...it's NOT a big issue.

As for the web page display, close out the browser and open it back up....I see that all the time, especially with the new modem.

Sigh. Service tech is suppose to show up today, still haven't seen anyone though. If I don't see someone soon I will be calling again.

Well figured out they somehow had the wrong number (or a very old number) on my account to which apparently the service tech called and got somebody (who wasn't me) who hung up on them.

Even though when I talked to someone in support when this issue occurred I specifically gave them my number and I assume that person never updated my account with the correct number. I was told (once the number was updated) that a urgent message would be sent to dispatch and someone would call me soon so somebody can come fix my internet.  My appointment was between 8 and 11, and I contacted Viasat around 11:30.

Well it almost 3 hours later, and I never got a call from a tech or dispatch. I called Viasat multiple times, only to be told they can't get a hold of the dispatch or the dispatch can't get a hold of the tech (whichever it is).

So I've not had internet (that I pay $160 a month for) since early Wednesday, and probably won't have it all weekend for something that can be probably fixed in less than 20 min. After 2 years with Viasat (when they were Exede) this is by far the worst experience I have had with them and I am not happy about it.
