Is the only difference (other than price) between Essential 10 and Exede 12 the hours of the free zone?

I am assuming you are referring to Liberty 12...Essential 10 is the plan that is more like the older classic plans.  You get 10 GB with a "hard" data cap...once you go over the 10 GB your speed will be severely restricted until your data resets.  You get the free zone, I believe from 3 am to 8 am on this plan.  Liberty 12 gives you 12 GB or priority data.  Once you go over that your traffic priority changes so that if it is busy you will be lower priority and get lower speeds, but most of the time it should be between 1 mbps and 5 mbps.  This will allow most normal web activities to continue including steaming videos (but not always more than 1 stream at a time and not in HD) while on the pass.  There is no free zone on Liberty 12 because you don't need one because you are not cut off and should be able to continue "normal" internet use.  Liberty plans are not a good fit if you have large file download requirements a lot of the time (some people talk about downloading 30 and 50 GB per day) as there is a point where you will be restricted further.  Liberty plans are a good fit for people that want "regular" internet use, including being able to stream some videos but don't normally have large files to download.  I assume that a large file download once in awhile isn't going to be a bad thing on Liberty but haven't had a need for that.  I have been able to watch videos without any problems while on Liberty Pass along with all other internet use that I need to do.  Hope this helps.

Hello Mary,

With the new Liberty Plans, there is not a Free Zone option during the late night or early morning hours because of the Liberty Pass you receive which also works in the overnight hours. The Essential 10 plan on the other hand, does have a Free Zone from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. daily, but it does not have a Liberty Pass option.
