Slow speeds

I have had terrible internet transmission for the last week. Resetting modem does nothing! I can't do my homework & am extremely upset about this!

Can you post screen shots of your modem page (192.168.100.1) but be sure you mark out your modem Mac address and public Ip address before posting

Have you checked your data usage at my.exede.net?  It sounds like you may have gone over your data limit.  That would be my first check.  If you are still under your data, then your signal signal levels need checked next, specifically your upstream channel width.  If this signal is weak then your speeds will be slower.  This signal level is not on your modem status, it can only be viewed by Exede Technicians and Customer Care.  And lastly, if that level is ok, then you may have a bad router that is choking your speeds.  Try connecting directly to your computer.  And if that is still slow, then you may have a trojan or virus.

If you send me an email to david@lakecountrysat.com that has your MAC address found on the bottom of your modem or the phone number associated with your account, I can run a diagnostics of your modem and make sure everything is ok.  Or you can send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com and they will be happy to provide the same information, or call customer care 866-945-3258.
