After power cycling my modem 3 times I decided to come here to see if anyone else had been without Internet for hours. I'm on my cell phone. I'm ready for a credit. I needed Internet tonight.

Yes, it was down in a lot of places but that was only for a few minutes, not hours.  It's all back now so stop your whining.  No refunds for part of day outages.

UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE OUT HERE WHO USE THE INTERNET TO EARN MONEY...FIXING COMPUTERS, POSTING THINGS FOR SALE, ETC...WHETHER ITS COMPLETELY DOWN OR JUST RUNNING SO AWFUL THAT YOU CANT RELIABLY POST 2 OR 3 PICTURES, THEN YOUR SERVICE SUX.  I HAD HORRIBLE ISSUES WITH EXEDE LAST YEAR, BUT THEN IT SEEMED TO CLEAR UP.  UNTIL RIGHT AROUND THANKSGIVING...

In full honesty, if your livelihood depends on internet, and you live where only satellite internet is available, understand the nuances that come with it or move.

You should always have a backup if something going down could cause you to lose lots of money.  I tell that to my customers all the time and guess what, most of them have backups for business critical tasks.

I won't say what I do for a living, but if a production printer goes down and there is no backup , it can easily cost a company tens of thousands of dollars for the day.

Mine was not down for a few minutes, a few hours. Just more in a long line of problems. Service was just at my house last week and didn't correct anything. So much for the service plan. So much for putting me on new beam, so much for putting me on new satellite(he lied) So much for 25Mbps speeds.

I gave up and went to bed Tim. Mine was down for hours as well. I added satellite because Hotspot which is fast and reliable, was more expensive, and I thought I'd save money.

I made my post with hotspot from phone. Seriously considering a unlimited phone plan since Viasat promises/sales pitch is so far off of reality. 25Mbps in my case means mostly around 2 and I have to accept it because it's "up to" I would like to "up to" Viasat.

It snowed here earlier, which was a surprise, and I briefly lost internet and Direct TV when snow built up on the equipment. I hadn't checked my speed in a while, but it's usually not an issue as I'm not a gamer, so I checked it on Speedtest.net a few minutes ago. I only complain when I've got nothing.

I certainly can't complain about my speeds today!

I noticed my modem had gone blue around 3 AM, after I'd given up and gone to bed.

I have also seen my usage gradually increase. For first year I was on 18 download and only went over once. After I moved to 150 plan w/25Mbps speed my usage went up to 23-25 a  month. Now, nothing changed and usage is up almost 100%, still way under my 150 but no reason for it.
