Intermittent Outages

For about two months now we have been experiencing intermittent outages. This happens on a cloudless day, no breeze, nothing, and happens at different times of day and night. Not just during peak hours. It is very frustrating, especially since we use the Exede Voice service also. I have been in the middle of conversations and the phone goes out. These outages last about 5 mins, 10 at most. We pay $100 a month for this service and something needs to be done. I know our beam has been oversold and wonder if this isn't part of the problem. We have been mostly satisfied with our service, other than the data cap but that's the price we pay to live in our beautiful neck of the woods, but I am seriously considering switching my phone service back to Verizon (shudder) just to have dependable phone service. Please help! I have tried rebooting my modem and my router and our service just reset yesterday. Nothing works.

Is it possible  that there is an obstruction in the line of sight between your dish and the ViaSat1 satellite? This almost sounds like maybe a tree might be blocking the signal whenn the wind blows the leaves around, temporarily attenuating the signal enough to loose the connection bettween your modem and the mother ship. Just a thought.

What router brand are you using?  This could just be a router issue and nothing to do with your exede service.   Give me the last 6 of your mac address  (it will be 00:A0:BC:___:___:___), on the bottom of your Viasat Modem.  Send that to   I can look at the technical data.

Hi Brandy, I am
glad to hear your service is working as it should now. Unless we are able to do
troubleshooting while the issue is going on, we will not be able to determine
what the cause is or was. It could be a DNS issue, ISP issue, or a router
issue. Please call 866-945-3258 for troubleshooting, if you have it occur
again, so we can get to the root of the problem. Have a fantastic weekend!

Hi Diana, is there an exede page we can go to and see current outages or service-effecting events?
