Intermittent Internet problems

We have intermittent internet. It will be on for about two minutes then it will go off for a variable amount of time. This happens at all hours. I looked at the dish and it is facing west. Could this be the issue? I know most satellite receivers usually point southerly.

It could be a pointing issue, sure.  But if your dish is facing west, then you would have no communication with the satellite at all.  Our dishes need to be pointed within 3 degrees of the satellite to be able to send and receive information.

I suggest calling Customer Care and having them look at the signal values your modem is producing.  If needed, they can then build a service call for you.
