We need to know how much we are using each month. Not daily, to make informed decisions on which plan to use.

Just look at your account management page the day before your billing date, that is the total since the last billing date.

So . You looked at my account page before billing,
And you wrote ( that is the total since last billing )
What's that number ?
Other question is this -
Why does Excede internet become slow at the end of the month. . The Internet was very responsive the day of May 30 2016 .

rich, it may be that you have used all your data for the month, thus slowing down until your next cycle begins.

So what you are saying is that Excede is throttling they service to the house customer at the month end of the billing cycle even though some customers mite not use all of there contracted GB.

As of the begining of the new week of May 30 2016
Service is very much faster . And is much more enjoyable . End of month was very slow

Hi Rich,

Bev is not an Exede employee, and can't see your account information. She's a member of the community who graciously volunteers her time to help answer questions.

As far as your data usage, it shows up automatically on your My Exede page. You can go ahead and log in to check it yourself, or send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com.

To your second question: Our plans slow down after you use up your Priority Data. If you're using up your Priority Data at the end of each month, it will likely run slower until your plan resets.

If you have questions about your specific account, please contact us directly. We cannot talk about your personal information on this public forum.

Thanks,
Exede Matt

Every month you X Gigabytes of Priority Data.  Once that Data is used up, your connection will go into DAP mode wherein your traffic will receive lower priority and slower speeds than other users that still have remaining Priority Data.

If you are experiencing slow speeds while still having Priority Data remaining, then there are large number of factors that could be responsible for this:

1.  A whole lot of users hitting the system at the same time causing more demand than there is service which will cause a slowdown.  This is often seen over the weekends or in the evenings during peak hours (5:00 PM to 2:00 AM).  On the weekends it can be any time as there are more people utilizing the connection than during the week days.

2.  Weather can cause things to run more slowly (clouds, rain, etc.  - these may not necessarily be in your area, but actually may be wherever the ground station is located that services your connection).

3.  Any number of other issues that might causes speeds to be slower such as a technical issue or other such item.

Exede always gives Priority Data users preference over all other traffic.  So if you have slower speeds on Priority Data, then likely there is just that many people on at the same time.

Exede goes in one month cycles, not weekly, so they would not be slowing you down on the weekend every week, that is likely congestion on the Beam.

All of the above being said, I had seem abysmally slow speeds over the past week on Priority Data, but that seems to have changed last night.  There may have been an issue they were working out that is now fixed.

Rich it could be as Steve suggested where you may have used up your data for the month. We allow customers to monitor their data at anytime at my.exede.net

You need to go to https://my.exede.net and login with your account email and password (if you haven't created an account on my.exede.net yet, you will need to do that first).  Once on that page on the left had side, it will show your usage up to today.

What Bev is suggesting is to log into that page later in the evening the day before your data cycles that will give you the total used for the last billing cycle.  You can also log in at any time to see your usage to data on your account.

I hope that helps.

That usage meter IS the total you have used for the month, not a daily total. As for throttling, that is per customer so, when you use all of the data (or Priority Data if on a Liberty plan) your speeds are slowed regardless of whether anyone else has used all of theirs or not.

For example if we both paid for 30 GB plans and were neighbors and, you used 31 GB before your billing date while I used only 25 GB, you would be slowed until your billing date but, my speeds would not be affected.

Rich, you can also log into the eSVT tool at https://myesvt.exede.net/. The tool can provide you with data used last month and the current month. Once the tool loads, simply click on the third icon from the left to get to the data usage page. At the top of that page, after it loads, you can select previous month an current month
