I get 30 down 3 up all the time.  Very pleased in the month Ive had it.   With a VPN its slow though....maybe 1.5 down but thats a technical thing related to the latency or delay that one need to live with with Satcom.  Ive tried 2 different VPNs with same result.  One VPN, ExpressVPN was recommended here as beging fast on ViaSat but after hours of experimentation it was no better then PIA.  Just a counter to help balance this forum

What plan are you on and how much priority data have you used for your current billing cycle?

VPNs are very hit and miss. We usually recommend testing with a authorized dealer if one is close enough.

I read that any VPNs will have reduced speed due to the high latency?.  Ive tried 2, PIA and Express VPN and both behaved the same as far as speed.  Ive found the the VPN server/location can makes a big difference.  Usually seems to be related to latency but not necessarily.  Right now Im getting 5 down with PIA VPN (30 without) which Im happy with.

It isn't latency. When you use a VPN, you are bypassing Viasat's compression and acceleration technology used to make the system perform faster.
