I would like to thank exede and viasat for their service

With all the negative things people post I would like to post something positive. I live in a remote area where I can't get phone service or dsl or cable or anything. Exede has been a life saver for me and has improved my life a lot. I was able to get a college degree thanks to exede and now I'm a engineer.

People are talking about filing with the fcc about their discontents. Why don't you file about the monopolists (at&t, Comcast, Verizon) that have iron grip monopolies over the industry. Exede has provided us with the versatility and complexity of a satellite system and they have provided it at a cost comparable to the monopolists who have the ease of just walking and installing their cables on the ground. Exede is doing us all a favor by adding competition to a market long dominated by monopolists and market manipulators.

While the monopolists have focused on overcharging us and providing service only to the low hanging fruit customers exede has provided access to those of us who were left out of the internet.

Because I get what I pay for with the "monopolists."  Great.  You have your college degree thanks to Exede.  Can you figure out why my modem/router has rebooted 6 times today?  (Yes, it's well ventilated and small UPS with the rest of my gear)

It makes perfect logical sense for the monopolists to pay shills to reduce competition and maximize corporate profit.

Guys we're going to need to stop the bickering please. This is a direct violation of our forum guidelines and can cause us to remove posts that aren't contributing to the self-help nature of this forum.

Jim, I understand you're upset with the performance of the service, I do see you have a open case with Diana, I'm showing that she should have sent a reply (check the spam if you're not able to see an answer from her). She'll gladly work with you to the best of her ability to sort this issue out for you.

JS, appreciate all the positive feedback, it's great to hear satisfaction like this. Unfortunately I think a lot of the cable and DSL companies are going to be wasting a lot of money to pay people to send complaints our way via this forum because we're currently not able to compete with them. We cover areas they refuse to go to or expand into, they on the other hand offer faster speeds and unlimited data (although many are moving to a data cap plan).

Thanks

I'm not a shill.  I used to love Exede.  The speeds were slow compared to cable but tolerable, and I had access.  Now speeds are going to hell in a handcart.  I had the 15 G plan and kept getting close, so I upgraded to 25/150 when Windows 10 came out and other software downloads eat a lot of Gs.  But now, currently the speeds are so slow that things time out and I have to reset several times a day.   Believe me I've done everything I can.   Exede techies needs to step up and say what they think it is.  Maybe it's Windows 10 conflict or the Speedboost modem?  There has to be something going on.  And I appreciate this Exede service more than you know, the way it WAS.   Maybe it's the stupid modem because I've been having problems since I upgraded my plan and they took my old modem.    Maybe it's a conflict between Windows10 the modem/router and the Alljoyn?   A lot of frustrated people that need some help.    Diana,  what makes it more frustrating is when it seems like a cut and paste response on some of the posts.   Service came out and changed out my modem and there is no improvement.

Hi Imma, The answers for slow speeds are based on so many things. Until we review the account, we provide general information.

Alljoyn may be contributing to your slow speeds.  Windows 10, as you mentioned, may also play a part in the slowness.  There are great tips online on how to help speed up Windows 10 performance. Speed issues are common across all internet networks

I understand satellite internet service can befrustrating.  It is not like cable or DSL. It is much more limiteddue to the fact the signal travels over 22,000 to provide internet to oursubscribers.

Each area is limited to a "beam" from the satellite, which is like a highway. Based onthe time of day, the number of users on the internet in your home, yourequipment, among other factors determine how well the internet service willperform and the speed.

If you have any particular issue you would like us to look at, please send an email to exedelistens@viasat.com.
