It will be a grand day indeed when Viasat figures out how to do that. :)
Has anyone experienced this with the updated 25G boost with Exceed? I called an Exceed representative who stated new plans will be offered in my area this coming weekend but before switching service I need to know if the equipment is going to work - so far we have narrowed it down to the HT2000W modem/router being the cuplrit - something to do with the chip in the unit does not have enough capacity to process the data usage while on a remote desktop connection (or something like that).
Any input in this would be greatly appreciated. I need a fix like YESTERDAY or I'm going to lose my job.
The third possibility is on the server side, and, if that's the case, you should not be the only one with the problem but, you can pass the following link to your work so that they can look at it. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/1fe7892c-36c3-479a-8e51-cd7f94ea2e87/becaus... It can also be how packets are fragmented by the server but, again, that would be something your work would need to fix and, others would have the same issue if it were a server problem.
Virtual Private Networks (‘VPNs’) and other remote computer access software such as those used to connect business servers to at-home workers may be very slow with Exede Internet. Some VPNs may not work at all. Other “SSL”-based VPNs may work just fine. A great way to find out is to take your VPN-equipped laptop to a local dealer and test it out. You can locate a dealer in your area by going to www.exede.com.
If someone's job is in jeopardy, I would seriously recommend contacting your wireless provider for hotspot options. I'm on Metro PCS (T-Mobile) and it only cost $10 to add a wifi hotspot plan to my existing phone. Before that I was using Verizon and they had a similar option.
I don't need my hotspot for VPN or even at home, I just have it because it is cheap and nice to have when I am traveling or on a job somewhere and need to download a file.
If your cell phone works at your house, chances are you cat get a hotspot plan so you can connect to VPN. It won't use much data and cell phone internet has far less latency than satellite. It is simple physics.
You cannot change the speed of light.
I understand what you are saying although, i was not told them when i bought this house. And working from home, i needed more than what exede has to offer. I did not CHOOSE excede it chose me. I did not know that there was not broadband 1 mile from the city limits. I was not told what Satellite really is. I was not told that living in the rural area came with a very high price. I love my place and i am not willing to sell for this reason, but what you said, Stephen Rice, was not needed because I already knew all of that!
I'm in a rural area and have the option of AT&T Uverse DSL in addition to satelite and cellulat. At&t is garbage where I live and they want $70 a month for DSL.
I am very happy to have the option to use Exede. It is faster and more reliable than the AT&T service I had before and is cheaper.
Exede is far from being a monopoly. I am thankful to have the option of using satellite. AT&T thought they were a monopoly to me and Exede proved then wrong.
