I was not notified that my email had migrated but when I sign on it takes me to the new email system and none of my old contacts or email was migrated.

the only contacts of mine that migrated to the new web mail was the ones I had previously in the wildblue web mail, we use outlook for our e mail client and we had to reinstall outlook and lost all the contacts, probably due to me not knowing what I was doing, we manually input the contacts, lost all the outlook folders etc

Ysa of you use an email client and didn't export that information before setting up your email again then yes all those are gone unless you do a restore on your computer and go back to before you set up the new account but that's no guarantee it will work.
As far as the migration yes only contacts you had created and saved directly in the mail platform online will move over. Anything created in the client programs will not as they were not actually saved in Google.

Hello Greg
This is a known issue tied our migration last night. This is a known issue and our engineers are currently fixing the issue. Once resolved your emails will show. It should be fixed within a few hours.
