I’ve just tried this new trick to boost speeds.

I know people who don’t have the new 100mbps plan have slower speeds. I tried this trick. It boosted speeds up to 2mbps. Try wrapping tinfoil around your router. Actually works!

I have found that I can double my speeds and consume half the data by wearing a tin foil hat. The shape does matter, it must be in the shape of a large cone.

Sure, trivialize foil hats. But science has proven they're part of a misinformation campaign by the government to facilitate mind controlling radio waves.

I read it on the web! It's from MIT! Yes, that MIT. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology one!

I've found I get much better performance from my car if I change out the coolant I use in the summer for antifreeze during the winter.

Although right-handed, I get much better results when I tend the garden with a left-handed hoe. YMMV of course.

Hmm, if plain tinfoil works, maybe chrome foil trailer repair tape will work even better. Just let me go steal about 100 rolls form my husband's boss's truck shop. xD

The only post that could make this thread even more useless would be a link directing to HP or Epson router support in India or the Far East.

So I will refrain from doing that!

Long time Champion JEB always boasted getting a much higher RxSNR by placing a Pringles container over the Tria on his dish.

One word of caution with doing that, be sure to remove the bottom end of the Pringles tube or you will soon have zero RxSNR and a toasted Tria.

Better yet, don't really try this on your dish.

Just picturing this makes me think I hear a Dueling Banjos off in the distance.  :)

This thread should probably be deleted since some people are dumb enough to try this.

Make sure that you remove any antennas and disconnect the power cord before placing in the oven.

Apparently wrapping the tinfoil around the antenna may work according to some of those articles.

Somehow this magic system not only increases speeds many fold, but reduces latency from 650 ms to 8 ms. Amazing!

Hey.  I ran out of foil.  Can I use Wax Paper instead?  I have some Saran Wrap, as well, if that might help.

Nah, but lead works, just melt down the balancing weights off every tire in your county, pour it out to make a thing sheet - viola, lead foil. (assuming you don't get arrested for stealing all those wheel weights.)

Awesome.  And the weight will help to keep the unit more stable.  A two for one deal!  I like it!!!  :)

I just go a hot tip on improving speed and latency from the lead programmer on the game I'm a part of building.

Shawn says that wrapping your Ethernet cable around as many batteries as possible works wonders. C and D cell are best but, any of the normal, cylindrical batteries will work.

DISCLAIMER: The Programmer and the game are real, the trick may not be any better than the rest of this thread.

I just found out that if you install a second network card in your computer and connect to both Ethernet ports on the ViaSat 2 modem you can double your speed!
