I think my Exede internet is maybe starting to mess up again. Five months ago I had a bad modem that needed replacing, but I don't know what the problem is now. For the past week I have been randomly losing connection. It does it at different times of the day, but it always connects after a few minutes. It isn't doing anything like it did five months ago when it would be out for hours and wouldn't connect without me unplugging it and back in. Right now it isn't too much of a hassle losing a connection once or twice a day for a few minutes, but I'm wondering if it may be leading to bigger problem.

Routers that have issues always give the Exede product a bad rap, but it doesn't have anything to do with the internet, just your connection to the router.
Belkin and Linksys routers seem to have the most problems. Some installing companies carry routers that have been optimized for Exede, but off the shelf routers that seem to work best with Exede are the net gear brand. Hope that helps.

I have a Netgear router that I bought five months ago when I had my first problem. On the modem status page the cable attenuation number jumps up from 5.5 when connected to 15 to 25 when its disconnected. The other numbers seem to stay the same.

I updated the firmware on my router and that seemed to solve the majority of the problem. But the past few days I've been checking the modem status page and it says I've only been connected a day. Then the next day I check it again it says I've been connected about 16 hours. So apparently I'm still losing connection. Then today it loses connection again for about 5 minutes.

I was wondering the same thing, JEP. I live in northeast Arkansas about 50 miles northwest of Memphis, TN. I don't know what beam I'm on. I have mostly farm land surrounding me. Most people in the area have satellite tv but there are a few that have Exede. So far today it has disconnected twice I know of.

Over the past week I've been disconnected a few times. I thought it was my router at first but then I thought it was Exede. The other day on the 14th I woke up in the middle of the morning at 2:05am and saw my internet was disconnected. So I checked the modem page, and it was staying at the scanning step and Rx SNR was at 3.0dB. I waited to see if it was going connect then at 2:41am I connected straight to my desktop. I got a connection within a couple minutes. So I thought it was my router. But then today the 17th at 8:18am it happened again so I did the same thing. This time plugging it straight to my desktop didn't work. So for the first time I unplugged the modem and got a connection. So at this point I'm not sure what the problem is.
