You're probably better off asking Apple but, if you can get the exact error message, I will check back later and, see if I can help.

One thing that may help is making sure iTunes is up to date. If it cannot update properly, go to the Apple website, download and, install iTunes again, that often fixes a lot of iTunes problems.

Can you use a browser, can you retrieve Email, do you have a chat client, such as Skype, Slack or Messages? Does that work? It’s tough to tell from your post if this is more global or just limited to iTunes. It sounds as if that’s what you’re saying (issue is limited to iTunes), but it’s not clear to me.

I used an AirPort Extreme with Exede/ViaSat for years before switching to Google WiFi and it always worked fine for all applications, including iTunes.

Provide a little more detail, then maybe one of us can help.

I don't know.  Apple stuff seems to be pretty "touchy" and likes to play with it's own kind.  I had AppleTV and it just didn't like my satellite internet.  Changed to Roku and it works great.  I think you would be happier using non Apple stuff with Viasat.  IMHO

That was not my experience at all... not even close. The AirPort Extreme was easily the best router I ever owned and it played nicely with Exede. We only switched to Google WiFi due to a need for Mesh coverage and also due to the usage controls and reporting included.

I fixed it. When computer is hardwired to modem/router- itunes does not connect. When unplugged, full wireless itunes connects. Regards

If you prefer a wired connection, use a switch.

This is how I had ours set up when we had the AirPort Extreme:

8 port gigabit switch connected to Exede modem (switches are “dumb”)

Airport connected to Switch

Second airport connected to airport (that one was upstairs, wired to first airport with Cat5e)

(other net connections connected to switch):

Hard-wired computer (wife’s Mac)
Hard-wired computer (Plex server)
Audio Receiver
Dish Receiver
Apple TV

With the Google WiFi, we’ve gone the other way, we’re close to 100% wireless right now. That works great, also.
