Not sure what you are looking for???  Normally, you get the FTP address from the site you are trying to upload/download from.  If you are using WIndows, an FTP program is built into the operating system, although it is not especially user friendly.  I like Filezilla, https://filezilla-project.org/    (Not really an Wildblue/Exede issue.)

if you are using an ftp program, as JEP suggested, your ftp address will be your IP address, for example, if your IP is 123.45.67.890 your ftp address will be ftp://123.45.67.890

Hi norman,
When you say: " I used it for a practice web page a few years ago."

Is the page still there? Was it on the WWW or on your computer?

You asked: "so I can download ftp explorer"? Is this the program : "http://download.cnet.com/FTP-Explorer/3000-2160_4-10202009.html"?

I don't think you need an ftp connection to download it??? Download it, install, then, if you answered "Yes" to the question above, connect to the "practice web page". If it's still there, it should work.

Where you using a web host, and now have changed host?

Your sure you have the right ftp address, and login in info? Where you using a "proxy"? I'm a Filezilla guy like JEP, it's very popular.

But if no one is home at the ftp address, no low connecto... Ya got to have a box to drop the mail in. ☺

Hope it helps,
Everett

If simply looking for public anonymous ftp sites to use with FTP Explorer, go to:

http://www.ftp-sites.org/

where you'll find some ftp addresses for some 95TB worth of data guaranteed to blow through your data cap in short order, including the virtually unlimited data cap

Be careful with FTP Explorer it makes it easy to do that as I recall - it's been a long time and my memory's not as good as it once was, but it's good once at it ever was.
