Itemized receipts are indeed mandated by IRS, and most State statutes. Why aren't more granular breakdowns of when data has been used readily and easily available?

Supposedly, Exede is working on it.  In the mean time there are solutions via third-party software and router firmware.  Satellite Restriction Tracker is one such piece of software that runs on your PC and can easily be set up to log hourly usage.

Hello Alex,

As of right now we don't have this capability. We are looking into making data tracking more readily available for our customers in the near future.

Exede Brad  This has been talked about ever sense viasat 1 went live ...! Why is it so hard for viasat/exede to get this simple function so customers can do this. I would like to see pdf billing come back myself. I liked getting a pdf copy of my bill for tax reasons.

Hi thorneo, Customer suggestions are taken seriously. We really
understand that our customers want more details of data usage and we are indeed
working on improving it. We hear you and want your experience
with ViaSat to be first class in every area.

Actually there is an update to the customer portal being worked that will give a breakdown of your usage. I am told it will be released later this year. I have been pushing for this for our customers. Meanwhile send me a private email with your mac address and I will send you a usage breakdown. You can find your mac address on the bottom of your modem or by going to and click on modem. david@lakecountrysat.com
