She suggested that some loyal customers are going with Excede and some are not. My Grandparents were very in the know. One thing they use to say is, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice and shame on me!" What about the rest of you?

Sorry to say but as long as that satellite is in orbit the old WB service will still exist. Now that being said next year when viasat-2 is launched it well offer exede service to the mid us that viasat-1 does not currently cover.

Just to reiterate what I said below, the WildBlue service is not being degraded and if you're having problems we would like to fix them. Having problems on WildBlue has nothing to do with declining to upgrade to Exede, but that seems to be getting a little lost.

If you are having trouble, please email me at exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information. Please reference your post in your email.

Dontazz. I am way up in age and have been given good advice by Grandparents for years until they passed and then my parents. The one thing they said, and others have told us is this: "Fool my once, shame on you: Fool me twice and shame on me!" Excede customers are already complaining there are too many Excede added customers. This seems like the Wildblue story all over again!

I was misled as well. I was happy with very modest Wild Blue speed, never exceeded GB limits......I was misguided, told "now or lose it". I have been MISERABLE with Exeed. My customer service file is pages long. I recommend you  DO NOT go to exede.

Virgil, it is true that at this time we do not have any plans to phase out the WildBlue service, but it is generally no longer sold. There are situations where the availability of legacy equipment such as the SurfBeam modem may be an issue, but barring that, you are free to continue as a WildBlue customer.

This is what the technician told me in that speeds would decrease, thus problems with my service right now. Eventually phasing out wildblue. I called because two of my programs no longer loaded when I am at 40% usage! She then told me the above! Was she just another liar at wildblue and not giving me what I am paying for?

Virgil, your speeds will not decrease, the speeds for WildBlue will remain the same. We'll reach out and get this resolved. Please reference your post in your email.

I hope a satellite internet service doesn't go out. Exede can not handle the customers they have now. I was told they was going to add another satellite to relieve a lot of this congestion. Well I am waiting to see it happen. I hate to pay for a service that you do not get and what you are told its because of congestion, and you wireless router. With cable when I lived in town, there was never a issue with my router, not congestion. I just wonder why there is so many issue with this service. Its not my router, because when I hook up directly its the same speed 5>. They state they are show I should be getting 16 mps or I hear there it is showing congestion. To me if there is congestion they have over sold what they can handle.
I dont know how many of you will remember Jim and Tammy Faye Baker. They built this Condo/Hotel and sold more membership then they could handle. Jim and Tammy was living the life, they had anything anyone could dream of. The most interesting thing was the dog house that was heated and air conditioned. The ended up being caught for over selling space, it was sad, they had built a beautiful place for people to go, and it was just allowed to decay away. The pictures before and now are amazing that no one took it over, but I think there was to many investors in it to do it. To many people was involve and had more investors then what it was worth. So they was caught for over selling, and living on the extra profits. This is what is going on with Exede. They just keep selling the service and cant handle it. They are raking in the profits while, the people who have to have it is hurting because of them over selling. I believe its should be a FCC issue, there should be a limit of the amount of service you can sell per beam. When that limit is sold it needs stopped.
So the bottom line and the reason for my story is to say, how can they be allowed to sell more then they can handle, the Jim Baker was put in jail for kind of the same issue, and they lost everything they owned. I believe it was to help pay back some of the investors. We are the investors in Exede. I believe it is something that needs to be checked into, as long as they can continue to sell service, rake in the profits, and cut the customers service, this will continue. But we do not what them shut down, because some of us need what ever we can get. We do not have a choice and they know this.

Danielbo, ViaSat-2 is slated for launch during the middle of next year.

If you are still receiving slow speeds, please send me an email at exedelistens@viasat.com with your account and contact information.

When it comes to the FCC, we've ranked as the #1 ISP in terms of delivering on promised speeds for the last 2 years. http://www.exede.com/blog/another-year-another-top-spot-for-exede-internet

So again, if there's a problem, I hope you will let us help. I look forward to hearing from you.
