I have had exede for 2 months and am ready to quit. It is frustrating to lose connection every evening and every time there is a hint of cloud or moisture in the air.
I have had HughesNet before this and even though they do not have a late night free zone, the service is superior. Superior tools for keeping track of usage, superior uptime, and bandwidth tokens that roll over each month for those times when you need a little extra, and they do not cost extra. I am really getting tired of paying a premium price for internet to get such substandard service.
At this point I want to cancel my account, and I really do not feel it is right to be charged an early termination fee, since if the service performed properly I wouldn't be feeling this way.

More heavy rain, and continued solid service. Things are looking good for this winter. Speeds have been good as well. No complaints, I hope it stays this solid.

You know, I am very disappointed with the moderators here. This is my thread, I started it because I was having issues and feeling ripped off and lied to, and my service was becoming unusable. I had another user here who is listed as a 'champion' call me a liar on my own thread. I responded, a little negatively but still quite civilly considering this person knew nothing of MY situation and was just responding to try to shame me into not posting here about my issues.
First my thread was closed before my issues were solved, and all responses were 'archived' then when I objected to that, it was unarchived, but now I just received an email saying that my reply to my 'accuser'  had been removed.

This is censorship. I know the mods have these rights, but I read that reply over quite a few times to find anything that went against the rules of the TOS and there was nothing there other then the fact that I was feeling attacked, and I was defending my position.

I think this is a bit heavy handed. I also think it gives the person who attacked me an unfair advantage since now when ever I see a person with the tag of 'champion' post on any thread my first thought is going to be "Oh watch out, if this person complains you will be censored because they are the 'teacher's pet' of exede.

I have NOT posted only negative things about exede here, I posted with an issue, so far that issue seems to have been seen to but as this storm gets heavier I am monitoring and reporting on performance.

This conversation in this forum was started by me, and I feel I should have the right to respond when attacked without censorship.

thank you exede moderators for making me feel once more like I am living in russia or china instead of the USA.

I do expect this post to also be removed since it is not favorable... however, I did also want to say that this heavy storm has not impaired my service, it does continue to be solid so what ever was going on in the backhaul looks to have been fixed for now.

Please note, if you have upgraded to the freedom plan, even if you are able to log into the legacy site, the meter there will still not accurately reflect your usage, so you should email exedelistens@viasat.com for any info on how much you have used.
I know it says virtually unlimited on the advertisement but they do say there is a 150 GB limit, and I think since there IS a limit, the meter should work... and I am sure it will eventually. The devs posted on another thread here that more and better tools were in the works, and I do believe them.

Loren if you would be willing to PM me at tierney@exede.net ...or if the moderators can't allow my email to be printed here just think of my last name with the exede.net on it,  not my regular email by any means but  I will check it, but anyway I just had a couple questions about your experience with Verizon data use I thought you mentioned a couple things up thread and since you have experience with the overall industry I'd love to get your input on a couple items. If you are not comfortable with that that is fine too.  Thanks!

Hey Loren, I want to assure you that your response was not removed because of the other user's title. I want you to feel free to post on here with your thoughts and feedback because I have seen them help customers clarify information with their own issues and lead to resolution. I'm very sorry this whole thing started and I know we can continue on from here on a positive note. If you'd like to chat about this, please send me another email. Hope to hear from you.

Thank you for the feed back Kimberly. I do appreciate it, and all of your other efforts. I am also always quite glad to help folks find a solution to issues. That is why having a place to discuss them like this is good. The internet is a many faceted thing, more then just that signal coming down from the satellite to our dish is involved.
It is like this huge roadway system and a glitch along any part of it can mess up the whole works.
Thank you for reading and responding to my thoughts =)

I absolutely agree. That's a great way to look at things and you're also very welcome. Even if I can't help with everything, I will always listen. (:

Loren I have been following your discussion and didn't see where you are called a liar, so at least that part seems to have been removed as well.  I am a moderator on another website and it is a very difficult job...I don't know that it will really help you that I say that, but a moderator removing some of your words doesn't necessarily mean that they even disagree with what you said.  Usually moderators are going by very specific written guidelines for the particular online forum and most of us (I mean me and other moderators I know) try hard to remove as little as possible and bend over backwards not to take sides.  Hang in there!

I understand that, and I also really appreciate the feedback and support I have received from both the mods here and other folks in the community. I am just one of those unforgivably outspoken people with no social skills LOL so when I feel 'attacked' I respond, and I will admit, under some circumstances I can respond in a rather biting manner.
I am just too old any more and I have a very low tolerance for what I will politely call nonsense ;)
I am also not some average end user who thinks their computer is a microwave like a lot of folks. I DO know my stuff in this industry, so when someone else tries to white wash what I am saying, or tell me I don't know what I am talking about, I will call them out.
Spreading DIS-information is counter productive and I do not tolerate it well.
Thank you for your input from a mods point of view =) the life of a moderator is never an easy one and the job is rough at times and under appreciated by the user base for the most part lol
