I have had Exced for 3 months.HATE it! Slower than dial up, and I pay almost $80 for the aggrivation of always having to reset my router.

I have Liberty Pass for over a year, bought a $170 router and never have to reset my router and I get the speeds they said I would along with swings in speed as affected by weather and internet traffic but over all is is a very good system. Does it work as smoothly or consistently as a really good DSL system, no but I don't have access to that so satellite is much better than phone modem.. All of that is to say you should consider getting a tech to recheck your system and maybe a better router. I had a good router before I thought, but found out it was the source of slower speeds after I research routers and then spent some money on the best...it had made a world of difference.

You shouldn't have to spend more than $40 to $50 for an "adequate" router. If it is your router you are having to reset, the problem probably is not with Exede. If you mistakenly said "router" when you meant "modem" then your installation may need to be checked and peaked. If you post your modem stats from here we may be better able to help you.

Key word here is "adequate".  I had an adequate router before but also had much slower speeds on my network.  I discovered that the better routers, which also cost more, also really did provide much better speeds and smoother operation in general.  If you want to get the best speeds that Exede offers, you don't need to skimp on a router that result in subpar performance and the frustration that follows.

I originally had a Linksys router, but had many internet drops a day, each time had to drop and then renew the IP address. A friend recommended I get a different router, I bought an Asus for around a hundred bucks and have had no problems since.
